Avoidant

My baby will be 1 soon and the whole pregnancy/postpartum was insane/ very emotional with his dad. This man will only do for our son when i ask and if i can’t physically go shopping with him he argues with me and then send stuff through Amazon which is fine with me. The part that’s not fine is he wants to be with me but he has deep mommy traumas and some bad habits/trauma from his ex wife, so he very mean or take no accountability for his negative output. He pushes me away when goes through things in life but expects me to read his mind and know how to fix HIS issues not help him out but to him I’m supposed to fix them. I’m not one to diagnose but he has a lot of traits of a fearful avoidant & he refuses to go to a therapist. I’m at my last straw because his mental health is starting to take a toll on my mental health because he doesn’t want to work on it. He keeps saying I need to fix it! How is his traumas my fault or why does this man think I’m supposed to fix him. Last thing is because we’re not together he doesn’t want to see our son unless all 3 of us are together in the same space. I’ve been trying to keep my distance because of the toll this has taken on me but now all my son gets from him is Amazon packages. I’m one of them mothers that take co parenting super seriously because I have a 14 yo by someone else and me and his dad have a great understanding but this second one my god!!!!

Just needed to quickly vent!

Hi! I’m in the exact same situation as you, with an increasingly toxic dad (fearful avoidant), blame language, name calling, changing the reality, no accountability, consistency or safety. I’m 29 weeks pregnant and he has just escalated again. I’m currently in no contact, receiving help from midwife. Never thought I’d be here. Terrified of when baby arrives. But trying to focus on healing and safety. If you ever need to talk about this / vent / go through healing / please feel free to reach out ❤️‍🩹

Do I speak to the mum?

Today my daughter (5 yrs old) said that her classmate asked her, "Is your mum very very ugly & very very fat because she has too much chocolate & caffeine?" 😭I put on weight after I had kids & I dont wear makeup and I already feel so insecure about myself. I've always been bullied in school and at home for my weight, the colour of my skin, my height - everything. It just brought everything back to me. I've told my girl not to play with this girl as she's mean and fat-shamed mummy

Struggling with my 2 year old boy!!

I am soooooo jealous of the moms who have little boys that listen, are chill and calm. I have an active little boy who LOVES to climb, jump off the highest surface, throw balls and just destroy things.

Recently, my 2 year old has started to pull ALL his toys and throw his stuff around when he doesn't get what he wants or we don't pay attention to him for more than 2 minutes. What am I doing wrong? What do I do because today I LOST it, in what I feel is a bad way. I'm at my wits end and hate it. It's like he doesn't listen unless I'm yelling and I don't want to be like this....I grew up in a home like that and it was like walking on eggshells.

Please give me some real constructive advice, I'm out of my element. And please don't suggest getting him tested or how these are signs of some sort of diagnosis...ita not, I know for a fact. He's just a smart, active little boy.

Nuby rapid cool

When using the rapid cool, I do the hot shot method, do I have to sterilise between each use even with just the boiling water? Xx

Has anyone had any problems with neighbours after having a baby?

My neighbour is verbally abusive, (shouting, use of profanities, etc.), stomps and bangs consistently, has told us to move, peered through my windows. The list goes on. My landlords are aware, they've warned him, they've told each of us to ignore each other, but he has only grown more comfortable. Unfortunately things always happen so quickly and im not able to record anything. Am I just supposed to live with my phone glued to me constantly recording? I have things to do and a child to care for, nor do I have the means to invest in recording devices. My child wakes up crying because he is afraid to be in his bed, it is worse now because of teething. I genuinely do my best to keep the noise brief and get him right away, but I cannot control my child. I am exhausted, discouraged and it seems as though nothing will change. The landlords will not do anything because they have no physical proof of harassment. If you have any similar experiences or have needed to take this to court, how did it go? Is it even worth it? To be completely honest im starting to feel like maybe my child is the issue or im being a terrible parent despite everyone telling me its normal.

Very fussy baby help

Not sure what else I can do at this point. My little one does not settle for more than 20 minutes in an evening. He is fed, he is given infacol and well winded, we regularly check his nappies and I have taken him out for walks. He sleeps for the walk and as soon as I get back in, he kicks off again. Any advice is greatly recommended
