Induction or elective c section?

Hi ladies, I am 40+1 today. I had a sweep on Friday where my midwife told me my cervix was soft (which she said was good) but it was still high up (Not so good). She's booked me in for another sweep on Friday and she also booked me for an induction this Sunday coming (1 week after my due date which was yesterday). I felt more told than asked which was also not ideal. Ideally I go into labour naturally this week but I am really considering opting for an elective c-section over an induction. What are everyone's thoughts?

Anyone with experience of either it would be really helpful to hear from you as I am a FTM and I have seen research that induction often leads to C-section anyway.

So my experience is widely diffrent as i seem to labour really quick, but go have your sweep on friday as if youre dilated more you maybe able to skip most induction methods and go straight to your waters being broken, this is what i had done, my waters where broken at 9 am and my girl arrived at 3:16pm all i had was paracetamol and gas and air while pushing.

As for induction you can cancel it, they like to book it in to know roughly what they may that week birth wise but you can choose to cancel even right at the last minute x

Circumcision

I am expecting a boy in August and just wondered what is the reason behind getting boys circumcised when not for religious reasons . Does the local hospital do it etc?? A friend has got me really thinking about this

Sleep deprivation

What’s the longest stretch you have gone sleep deprived? Im concerned my nervous system is stuck in high alert and won’t come down at night. Even when my LO sleeps well I can’t. They have just been through a sleep regression so that didn’t help matters. By body is now functioning on 3-5 hours a night.

Contractions?

38 weeks here… I’m starting to not really be able to tell the difference between my baby rolling or Braxton hicks.. or honestly if it’s a regular contraction. Nothing is happening like super close together, but it’s definitely caught my attention. I have a doc apt tomorrow.. but until then, does anyone know how to tell a difference?

Unsure what to do

So I had a scan which showed an empty sac at 6 weeks 5 days measuring 6 weeks 2 days but this morning I’ve had what I would say is 7/10 right sided cramping/abdominal pain. I know it’s a bank holiday my EPU isn’t open and they take referrals so I’m not sure what to do?

Frustrated

FTM, 36 weeks 4 days. I’ve had a few days of Prodromal labor but today my contractions were under 5 min apart for over an hour and when I decided to go to the hospital I noticed I was also bleeding. When I got to Labor and Delivery I was 1 cm dilated and my contractions were very intense and 3 min apart. The doctor told me she believed I was in labor but they sent me home after 6 hours because my cervix wasn’t progressing. They also didn’t give me a clear explanation as to why I’m bleeding, told me it was either a slight placental abruption or just bleeding from cervical changes. I’m just so frustrated because they told me to come back when my contractions are close together or if the bleeding gets worse, but my contractions are still coming every 4 minutes. Luckily baby is doing fine but it would be nice to feel a little more supported by my care team as a FTM.
