Clueless?

I’m 18 weeks and have been booked to see a c section specialist doctor? My first pregnancy was a C section just because baby was breech. This time i’m adamant i don’t want another c section. The experience with my first c section was absolutely horrible!! The staff were so horrible the doctors were so horrible, and honestly i don’t ever want to go through that again. I feel like if i go to this appointment they will try and push a c section onto me. Has anyone got any advice whatsoever

I don’t have personal experience of the appointment, but from friends who’ve had their second baby they said it was an appointment to talk through risks and benefits of vbac vs elective c section. None of them said they felt pressured at all, so I’d really hope you’ll feel the same and will get the chance to talk though your options and make choices that work for you

I am in the same boat, I have a call on the 1st July with an obstetrician i presume to discuss my birthing options. My first was an emergency c-section due to PROM, babies heart rate dropping and I wasnt dilated enough. I did briefly discuss with my midwife as I would really like to try a vaginal birth, she mentioned it is possible but apparently only 50% of VBACs are successful so now I'm all in my head about it(not 100% sure how accurate that is). I've spoken to a few people who've told me that either themself or someone they know have had successful VBACs but again I know each case is different. I would say go into the appointment and listen to what they have to say, but absolutely advocate for yourself and what you want, express your concerns, talk about previous experience, etc. At the end of the day they are there to advise but its your body, your pregnancy, and eventually will be your labour/birth so you should absolutely get a say in it xx

Hey! I had an emergency C-section almost 3 years ago with my first, they said to me once you have an un-planned C-section, that you come under the high risk bracket. They said it is classed as that due to the scar, but everyone is different and can opt for a natural birth but I think they just put it in place just in case with a C-section. I have decided to go elected C-section myself, due to my experience last time. I was also sedated during the birth of my first so that traumatised me. Fingers crossed things go smoother this time now that it will be consultant lead 🤞🏼
Definitely go with what you would like. I think they just give you the options, in case and make it safer for you and baby ❤️

Induction or elective c section?

Hi ladies, I am 40+1 today. I had a sweep on Friday where my midwife told me my cervix was soft (which she said was good) but it was still high up (Not so good). She's booked me in for another sweep on Friday and she also booked me for an induction this Sunday coming (1 week after my due date which was yesterday). I felt more told than asked which was also not ideal. Ideally I go into labour naturally this week but I am really considering opting for an elective c-section over an induction. What are everyone's thoughts?

Anyone with experience of either it would be really helpful to hear from you as I am a FTM and I have seen research that induction often leads to C-section anyway.

Labour inducing tricks!

I’m 39 weeks and 2 days and I need natural ways to get this baby out. I’ve tried walking, exercising, being intimate, doing things I enjoy (to release oxytocin), raspberry tea, dates (on and off as I really don’t like them), ball exercises, colostrum, and I think that’s it so far. Any other tricks I’m not currently trying? Or any of the above that worked for you that I could try more of. I’m willing to try anything that’s safe at this point!

16 week midwife appointment

I had my 16 week midwife appointment when i was 18 weeks. I just felt like it was a waste of time, she checked my BP and that was it. Said she’ll next see me at around 24 weeks. We didn’t get to listen to the heartbeat or anything

I’m 33 weeks on Wednesday and can’t believe I still have around 7 weeks to go? 😂 I’m exhausted and feel huge! I feel so much bigger and heavier in this pregnancy and tbf this baby is measuring bigger than my first. Anyone else feel the same? X

pelvic girdle pain post c-section

Hiya! I’m currently 6 weeks post c-section, since been 4 weeks I’ve started having pelvic girdle pain and my bones cracking constantly, and severe discomfort with my pelvis that causes me pain when walking and severe discomfort laying in bed, i find that after a walk is when the discomfort is worse and it puts me down for the rest of the day I am seeing the doctor about this issue tomorrow
But I just wondered if anyone else has experienced this and what they have found that improves this? Thankyou🧡
