This teacher slapped a primary school student and left a red mark, however she tried to say in her statement that it was an "involuntary arm movement" 😑 I call bullshit... How can you "accidentally" have your arm outstretched, "accidentally" have an open hand and "accidentally" come into contact with a child's cheek enough to leave a red mark? But in the same interview she states that "a challenging classroom situation contributed to the incident". I'm sorry but if teaching brings you to the point of assault then you shouldn't be a teacher 🤷🏼♀️ so my questions are:
Should it be a lifetime ban? And would you press charges as the parent?

Her statement on the "accident": She said the pupil was flailing his arms, tried to push her away and grab the laptop, and that she "overbalanced slightly backwards on her left foot and stepped forward with her right foot to steady herself."
The former teacher said as she did so, her right arm came forward involuntarily and her open palm came into contact with the pupil's face "lightly" as he moved his chair.
A report from the TRA hearing said: "She stated that there was no force or horizontal movement from her arm or hand and that any contact was completely unintentional and accidental."

Now being the clumsy person I am I have whacked, elbowed, and even fallen on children. But that’s sounds like a whole lot of dancing around “he was being crazy and I smacked him” you can’t accidentally lightly move and arm an leave a big red handprint

I pressed the wrong one yes to ban I'm not sure about charging her. I don't agree with what she did nor do I believe the whole story. But there's always 3 stories to any situation theirs, mines, and the truth. Unless there is a camera that shows it whose to say her version of the situation isn't true. Or the child if they spoke up about it. I had a situation that happened with 1 of my child and another student at his school and we had a choice to have the child arrested and charge or other things. Everyone was hong go on pressing charges on this child while my child didnt know what was even going on.

I’d say no to charging if it’s not your kid?

What in the world are these comments defending the teacher?! I was a teacher at a pretty rough school. I’ve had the stuff on my desk swiped to the floor, been punched and kicked, been chased with scissors and an umbrella, been told by a kid to “sit my fat ass down and shut up”, and more! And you have these kids day after day.
How many times have I slapped a kid? ZERO. How many times have I been close? ZERO

“I’m sorry I got caught” more like it
