Contractions/ early labour advice

First time mum looking for advice!
I’m having contractions in my lower back and pelvic area, averaging around me 5-7 minutes apart and around 30 seconds long. I’ve had a sweep yesterday and lost my mucus plug.

Am I in early labour? 😅

Probably been asked many times before!

FTM and opting for an elective C-Section. 34 weeks at the moment and feeling woefully uninformed about the whole process. We have a consultant appointment next week but does anyone have any pre and post op advice or tips I should know?

Can anyone help explain this please?

Just been for my first ever sweep- I'm trying to understand the notes to see if I can work out if im dilated or not (she's 5/5 engaged and the second the midwife popped her fingers in she said she could feel baby)
Any help would be appreciated 🥰❤️

Sort of wanting to just opt for an elective c section

Throughout my pregnancy and even before, I wanted to avoid a c section where possible. Im 40+2 today and after a really horrible interaction with a consultant pushing and railroading me in to an induction, im just kind of filled with doubt and fear. Something I haven't felt until now.

I wanted to really try for a spontaneous natural delivery, but am totally open to pain relief, and interventions where necessary for baby's or my health and safety. But getting to this point now, with an induction date booked for 40+8 next week, im wondering if its just worth booking a c section and being done with it. I had my first sweep done yesterday and I was 2cm dilated but my midwife said my cervix was still closed. I have another booked for Tuesday.

I dont really know why im posting, solidarity, positive induction or c section stories or just some encouraging thoughts might be helpful from those on the other side or in the thick of things too.

Age gaps and second baby advice 😅

Hello guys . I’m currently 11 months pp and I want some advice . Are you one and done and glad you made that decision ? Did you go for a second child and regret the decision (NOT THE CHILD) , did you decide to go for another and it was a smoother transition than expected ? I found my first baby extremely difficult especially the first 3 months we had tongue tie, colic , reflux , waking every 30 mins . She still wakes at night . I had bad anxiety especially with SIDS and also ppd which I never medicated for and now regret . I look back on the time and it’s just a blur until maybe 5 months onwards . I enjoy her so much more now that she’s older and I love being a mother . My husband constantly bring up more babies in the future but I genuinely don’t know if I could do it again . I also love maintaining myself and having some time for me when she naps but when I have two will I lose this time ? Can people share their experiences . Was a second child worth it ? What age gap was best ? I am deffo open to a larger age gap but not more than 5 years . But if it would make things easier then I could do it . I know 2 would be my absolute max children but I constantly go back and forth between one and done or two . The main reason is for her to grow up with a sibling especially as an adult I think it would be beneficial . At the end of the day it’s personal decision but advice and experiences would help a lot 💗💗💗

Induction vs C-section

My baby has consistently been growing on the bigger side (I’m only 4’11 and my partner is 6’3). They haven’t been pushing an induction with me but a C-section instead however I’m really trying to push for natural labor with it being my first.

I’m so overwhelmed with what decision to make as I will be full term in 7 days and have been scared of just waiting past my due date due to higher risks of shoulder dystocia and still birth. Do I opt for a C-section knowing the recovery for this is harder and there’s more health risks to baby afterwards or go for an induction in the hopes that I go into labor? I’ve only heard horror stories about induction so if anyone has any positive stories I would love to hear from you!
