Tantrums, screaming etc.

Hi ladies,

I am sure this topic is well known amongst all of us so I will to the chase.

I have 18 month old that behaves like an absolute ass 😂 crying over anything, lays on the ground, sometimes screams for over 30mins, I tried talking, shouting, tv, nothing.. how do I deal with this and how do I get him to calm down 🥲

Do less. Much less. It’s not your job to fix his emotions. He needs to learn how to navigate them on his own. Your job is to keep him safe, help him put words to the things he’s feeling, and be a nurturing presence in his life. So you don’t need to talk him out of it or explain why his banana broke in two. Yelling at him will just make him more dysregulated. TV isn’t what he needs and doesn’t teach him the coping mechanisms he needs to learn for adulthood. Just take a deep breath and say: “You wanted to stay at the park and I made you leave. You didn’t like that and now you’re mad.” And then wait it out.

Like sharon said you dont have to try as hard as you are

Its difficult but they are learning emotions and how to deal with them, just make sure the environment is safe and let them have their moment to work out their emotions and to sooth themselves and be ready to give them cuddles when they are ready 🥰

Bath too hot?

I feel horrible, my baby is 4 months old and she usually likes her baths. And I’m usually good at reading the temperature before I put her in, but this time I feel like I wasn’t. She was ok initially but then all of a sudden as I was cleaning her hair she because fussy and her face changed. Then she because upset and wanted to move out of her bath seat. So I quickly picked her up as the crying got worse and her skin was hot. I then laid her on her mat to soothe her and let her cool down. She is ok now and back to her smiley self but I feel horrible knowing I put her in and it was too hot for her!!! ☹️☹️☹️

5 months pp, still don’t want sex…

I’m 5 months postpartum and it’s still painful to have sex. I had a C Section, so the scar still feels weird and uncomfortable being touched down there. Has anyone else gone through this? Is it normal or should I be worried?

Dr Google says my body could still be in shock from having a baby and it’s stopping me from enjoying anything.

Little one cries when my husband holds him

Our son is just over 5 weeks old, and for the past 2–3 weeks he cries almost every time my husband holds him. The only position he seems comfortable in is the “football” hold, but he won’t nap that way.

It’s becoming really stressful for both of us. I feel like I can’t properly nap, get ready, or let my husband settle him during the night without him crying, and I know it’s upsetting for my husband too. What makes it harder is that our son is happy and naps being held by other family members.

Is this something other parents have experienced, and does anyone have any advice or solutions that helped?

I cannot be the only mum heading to bed right after I put my toddler down????

I'm a SAHM with a 15 month old. She naps a total of 1 hour during the day. Still on 2 naps. I'm EXHAUSTED by 7.30pm when she goes to bed. She is up at 6am so I literally find myself crawling into bed the moment I've got her down. Sometimes I scroll for an hour. But sometimes I'm going straight to sleep.

Anyone with me???

Nappy size

What size nappies are your little people in now? I feel like we’re close to moving up to size 4 but I’m sure our first wasn’t in size 4 until much later 😅😅
