Moses basket

My sons a week old now and we currently don’t have a Moses basket for down stairs. Wondering if it would still be worth getting one? We have a snuzpod 5 upstairs but I can’t bring it down due to having a c section.
Also what age to Moses baskets last them till?

Depends on the size of baby but usually between 4 to 6 months.

We bought a stand for the pram bassinet, we take it off the wheels and put it on the stand in our living room.

If you do want one have a look at Facebook marketplace, some people give moses baskets away for free or cheaper than buying brand new.

MIL question. Would this annoy you? Because it makes me want to stop responding to her altogether but I guess then I’d be the A-hole

She’ll ask me something like “do the kids have a graduation ceremony coming up?” Or “what are you guys doing this weekend” and if I don’t answer right away she’ll double text with a “guess I’ll never know” or “never mind I guess…” it seems so rude and entitled to me like dang it’s literally been a few hours lady and I have a life AND on top of that you have your sons phone number. she’s done it 3 times now in 2 months so it’s just aggravating the crap out of me

Who’s at fault for not toilet/potty training the child before starting school?

I was listening to Louise Thompsons podcast where she spoke about children going to school still in nappies.
I personally think parents are at fault with this as I work in a nursery and we have so many children who are going to school in September that are still in nappies and parents have a very cba attitude about it.
I understand if your child has additional needs then it’ll be difficult but we have 2 SEN kids who are fully toilet trained!

Skipping Nursery - or waiting until 3

I’m just curious - has anyone chosen not to take their little ones to nursery and just gone straight to primary school? Or maybe waited until they were around 2-3ish?

What have your experiences been like? ❤️ I know a lot of people love nursery and for most of us it’s a necessity with work - I have no shade towards anyone that does the nursery option at all - I just have this deep feeling like this might not be the right option for me or my little one.

I never hear or see many people sharing their stories or advice about skipping nursery or going at an older age so thought I’d ask! 😊 I’m not against nurseries and socialisation but I would feel more comfortable if he wasn’t still so dependant.

Venting..

I'm getting lonely..
I have a husband, we'll ex husband. We're together, have been for 12 years. If not longer lol.
Alp he wants to do is drink, when he doesn't get to he's moody and seems like he hates everything. Ik he has a problem, he's just not that interested in fixing it. We could talk about it one day, and he's totally on board for slacking down but it's just talk.
I want our child to have a great childhood, I don't want her seeing him like that. I make sure shes in bed by a certain time.
Iwant to cry, ik people will say leave. It isn't that simple, I'm a sahm, don't drive, don't have help family wise.
I do love him, I wish I could help him but I know it's something he has to want. I'm just so sick of crying every other night, I'm sick of not feeling loved, I'm sick of walking on eggshells most nights bc he's a bit too buzzed and wants to argue.
Idk what to say to fix this, I know he wants better for our kid but how is that ever gonna happen like this.. I've been trying so hard to straighten our lives up, but I can't do this on my own...
Aside from our child, I need more. I would give anything to be cuddles up too and spent time with, without the sexual grabbing and whiskey breath.

Baby refusing solids after trip

So my husband and I went on a trip to California for his friend's wedding and we left our 3 boys with my mom (4y, 2y, and 5M). I didn't pump as much as I should have I guess, because we burned through my stash when my 4yo was in the hospital and my sister helped to watch the 2 younger ones during the day and I came back at night. That's probably unnecessary info, but oh well 😂

Anyways, my mom fed my 5 mo plenty of purees/smashed foods while I was gone to compensate, and would still give him bottles mostly before bed and at night. She ran out of milk just before I got home. It was a 5 day trip.
I thought he was going to be some good eater when I got back, but now he's got separation anxiety, is super clingy, and only wants the boob. He's rejected almost everything I've tried to give him. Like, pursed lips, turning away, pushing my hand, etc. He did want to suck on my strawberry yesterday, but wouldn't try my cantaloupe today, and won't eat the stuff he used to seem to like (pureed carrots, bananas, avocados).

I'm trying to go at his pace, because I know it will probably make him hate food if I force it, so I'm only really offering it now if he reaches for my food.
