C section

Hi ladies I'm 29 weeks and recently also have gestational diabetes and on metformin. No one has spoken to me yet about the c section or the plan for it. Just to be clear I'd wanted a c section anyway and that was my preference. When does this usually happen? My midwife seems to be part time and weeks go by where no one comes back to my queries.

My sister had gestational diabetes in her first pregnancy and was offered an induction at 38 weeks because the baby was measuring big, which then became a c section at 39 weeks as no progression.
Different trusts will have different policies, but I don’t think c-section is the automatic route for GD unless you’ve said already it’s your preference

My hospital won’t book a C-section or confirm it until right at the end. My last one was booked on the back of my 36 week growth scan because he was breach. But it wasn’t straight after that, they give you time to think about it etc. they’ve asked what I want to do this time and I’ve said I’m leaning more C-section and we said we will talk about it in a few weeks after a few more scans. They won’t book you in yet, but it will get sorted don’t worry!
