Wanting to get prescribed with having a toddler.

if I were wanting to get a prescription for Zoloft to treat my depression & anxiety how would I do so and would they think I’m unbalanced to have my child if I am on it? I’m so scared but need help I don’t want to feel like this anymore

Are you in the UK? If you are, make an appt with your GP and discuss with them and advise youd like to start meds. They won’t take your child off you, it shows you’re actually working to improve yourself and be a better mother. Unless there’s a cause for concern that you’re a danger to them for any reason?

I don't suggest scheduling with your PCP unless you're getting a referral to psychiatry. Most insurance plans (in the US) don't require referrals for mental health providers.

Find a psychiatrist and request a consultation for medication management and let them know you're interested in starting a medication.

Treatment for mental health does not deem you unfit to care for your child. Receiving the help will always protect you more than not receiving it

I see a psychiatrist for my meds I’m on Zoloft now and 3 other meds and there’s no worries abt me losing my children just bc your on meds doesn’t mean you get them taken away if you need on meds to help you then you need to do it for you n your child

My primary doctor would prescribe them for me

Also no taking antidepressants shouldn't equal your kids getting taken unless your mental health creates unsafe living conditions for your baby

I have a 15 month old and just got prescribed Zoloft. I got it from my primary doctor, but you can always go to a psychiatrist if you feel more comfortable with that. They didn’t question my ability to care for my child, and I don’t think they will unless you express thoughts of wanting to hurt them.

Nappy Brand

When I went on maternity leave, I was gifted a nappy cake from a charity through my work. The nappies were out of their packet so I am unsure on their brand & want to know before using.

Does anyone know what brand these are? Added a picture for reference!

Early autism signs ?

My four month old is a beautiful little girl who we love dearly. At home she’s very smiley and has started to make giggly noises. But when we go out she becomes very serious and easily freaked out. She shows no interest in toys - preferring to watch our faces instead. I’m starting to worry it might be a sign of autism - too early really to tell I know. Or that she’s naturally very shy and antisocial- if she is of course then that’s absolutely fine. Me and her dad are very outgoing and I’d just be a bit sad if she doesn’t like being around lots of people.
Is four months still early to play with toys? She’s alert, feeds well, normal nappies etc, watches me and my dad intently when we’re moving round the room. She doesn’t laugh properly yet but makes noises like she might. Is this normal? Anyone else had a similar sounding baby that turned out a bubbly social child? Obviously I’ll love her no matter what but feel it’s good to prepare if she is more sensitive and possibly on the spectrum.

Thanks x

Unsafe baby wearing

Would you politely tell a lady at a play group she is unsafely wearing her baby in the carrier?

There is a lady at the play group I go to who has an older child and a small baby who she often wears in a carrier. The baby is far too low, their face smooshed into her jumper and the legs dangling incorrectly. I always want to say something, but I’m too afraid of upsetting her or it causing a row when I’m only trying to be considerate of the baby. She has lots of friends at this group she speaks to and I can’t help wonder why no one else has said something before, or if they have, she’s ignored it!!!???

Advise????

Relactation

Has anyone started their breastfeeding/pumping journey again after a very long break of dry. I haven’t breastfed or pumped for 3 months and I’m thinking about restarting. I just pumped and got a small amount of colostrum out but I don’t know if I’ll ever get a supply back.
