So I’m on call for jury duty soon. Has anyone else ever done jury duty? If so, any tips? I’m a bit nervous as there’s a couple big cases coming up and really I feel unbiased towards them. I’m actually not looking anything up but I did think about it lol anyways, I’m very intrigued but I’m also wondering about the things I don’t consider? Please let me know anything that you wish you would’ve known before going
Thanks!

I’m also curious. And do they mail u something to tell u u have jury duty ? How much time in advance ?

I’ve never done it. I actually got a notice in the mail a month before my due date but had my doctor write me a note bc I was a high risk pregnancy & it was too much on me at the time. Firstly, make sure you’re dressed decent, only bring a small purse with keys, wallet, phone bc you’ll have to get your bag checked. If you usually carry a knife or pepper spray leave it at home or in the car. They’ll usually giving you a parking pass so you get validated & don’t have to pay. Some cities will offer a bus pass if you don’t have transportation. A lot of places only pay about $15/day for the service. They’ll have you swear under oath to be non bias & you cannot share any info about the case with anyone while the case is ongoing & you cannot research the case or read about it online. You can only hear what’s said in court about the case & base your decision off that. They’ll ask everyone if they have a reason to be dismissed & question everyone one at a time in the beginning.
