First hair cut

My son is 18m and has wild curly hair. I tried googling first hair cut Aberdeen and found Kids Kutz, went to the address and found a dingy black and gold barbers, not the fun kids hairdresser in the pictures. Where is best for a toddlers first hair cut? Aberdeenshire too. My son is very shy and I imagine he won’t love getting his hair cut so want someone who is used to doing babies hair

Hey! I guess that I’m a bit late to respond this but… I struggle with the same. My boy is 19mo now and we have taken him twice to get his hair done. I didn’t quite like the haircuts we’ve got, but I genuinely recommend the hairdressers at these two places:
• The Barbers Pole, Ellon Rd - Bridge of Don
• Muse Barber Shop (inside Tesco), Laurel Dr - Bridge of Don
As I said, the haircuts were NOT what I expected and wanted, but both hairdressers were very friendly and patient, which made the experience smooth and not at all traumatic. If you do have a place to recommend, please drop it below, because is time for us to go again. Xx

Chickenpox at nursery

The nursery has contacted on my sons second day at nursery to say that a baby has chickenpox. This baby was in the same room as my child.

Is there a high chance of him getting it? The baby was removed within 3-4, hours.
I havent had chickenpox myself so I am a bit worried hence me asking.
Are there any steps I can take?

How did you encourage your LO to take their first steps?

My LG is 11 months (1 year in 3 weeks) and she is ALWAYS wanting to walk holding my hands. She does it really well and is barely putting any weight on my hands any more and she cruises confidently!

I've been trying to encourage her to take an independent step but every time I do, she crawls to me instead.

Any tips would be great!

Feeding to much or too little..

My baby is 5 weeks and 2 days.. anyone else at 6 ounces or having to offer 6 ounces whether they take the full amount or not? Just curious as my son is so different from what my daughter was..

Car seat

My LO is 6 months old and hates being in the car. Sometimes she can tolerate a 10-20 minute journey by being distracted with toys, but once she starts crying she gets herself so worked up, which is so difficult when driving alone. I’ve tried her in the front (airbags turned off) and it worked for one journey but the journey back she was in hysterics by the time we got home.

I’m unsure if it has anything to do with the car seat, for reference she is 6 months old, and we have the joie I-level pro car seat, so it is fine for her age and weight/length, but unsure if the capsule car seat is causing discomfort.

Has anyone experienced this then changed to a bigger car seat and had better results, or any ideas how to keep her distracted? We do so many car journeys, and usually when I’m sat in the back with her she’s okay for a bit longer but once she’s in hysterics I have to take her out to calm her down

Any advice would be much appreciated!

How many bottles do you have?

Typically how many bottles do you have? I know it depends on how often you wash them etc. We have 4 at the moment but looking at buying a couple more to avoid washing as often.

Husband mentioned being celibate

My husband is on a bit of a self-improvement/discovery journey and mentioned yesterday about the idea of being celibate for a while to see if it improves his mental state focus on other things. He said that he is curious around how if would affect him. How would you feel?
