Tried to get little one to latch in hospital and were struggling so switched to bottle as I wasn't massively set on breastfeeding anyway. Shes now a week old and Im itching to try again with breastfeeding but worried it could ruin her weight gain and set us back. She does eat well with the bottle, only 1oz down from birthweight 5 days after birth. Expecting her to be back at birthweight at least at our next appointment on Tuesday. Anybody tried again with breastfeeding? Obviously if it didnt work, we still have bottles and plenty of formula. Pic of our little angel just cause 🥰

I think, from my experiences with my first, that no-one really talks about combi feeding explicitly, despite the fact many, many women are doing it! Any amount of breast milk a day is helpful in terms of the immune benefits. I still have regrets about stuff from my first journey but don’t regret all the attempts I made to try and make things work. No harm in having a go - she will absolutely let you know if she’s still hungry!

My first baby didn’t latch till two and a half weeks after birth. I pumped and bottle fed up to that point and just kept trying to get her on around that, didn’t do anything different but one day she just got it! So it can definitely still happen.
