Is there anything you can do to avoid a c section in your next pregnancy?

I had a C Section in December and I’m still struggling to come to terms with it. Not that there is anything wrong with a C section - my baby is healthy and happy and that is all that matters!! But it wasn’t my first choice and I’d like to try for a vaginal delivery for my next baby. Any suggestions on what I can do to make that happen now that I’ve had one c section?

Thanks so much xx

The main thing is not to get pregnant too soon. The longer you heal, the lower your risks and higher your chance of a VBAC. I was told both times not to conceive until after 18m to fully heal, any less and that’s usually a repeat section due to higher risks of rupture

I think leave as long as possible between the pregnancies to allow for healing to minimise risk of uterine rupture if you want to try for VBAC x

Honestly it’s hoping baby is head down.
Giving yourself at least 12 months between pregnancies to increase your VBAC chances

Would highly recommend spinning babies type workouts during your next pregnancy and a birth class and doula to prepare you for your vbac. It still may end in a c section but you know you did everything right to prepare your body. My first vaginal ended badly my 2nd ended in emergency C-section, and my 3rd will be scheduled. I’m the opposite but I still was given the option to vbac. Wishing you an incredible 2nd birth story.

18 months between labours but ideally 18 months before you start trying again helps a lot.

Staying active (walking is fine) can help a lot too. Avoid induction if you can especially if youre in the UK induction fail rate is over 40%.

Do I need to call?

I’m 27+6, and baby was SUPER quiet this morning. She’s now started moving normally again.

Do I still need to call in or can I just continue monitoring?

Party Bags

Where do we stand with party bags? 😫
My daughters second birthday is October and we don’t really know LOADS of kids, literally maybe a handful and majority are family, and we’re having a party for her like we did for her first but unsure wether to do party bags.

My nieces second birthday was over the weekend and they done party bags but it was all small things that I actually had to confiscate as choking hazards 😫

Do we do them this young? My other niece last year complained there was no party bags 🤣🤣

First appointment

Is it normal to not have the first appointment until like 8 weeks? Feels like a while but I literally have no idea.

Braxton hicks?

I think I’m having occasional Braxton Hicks contractions today - I can’t be sure though but it feels like a period cramps/squeezing really low down in my abdomen.
Anyway, they’ve been really irregular, like 1 every few hours for a few mins, I’m just wondering if I should maybe track them on the contraction timer app just to be sure there’s no pattern? Has anyone else done this? I don’t wanna overreact 😂.

Induction window

Advice please 😊
I was given an induction window Friday - Today and was told I could expect a call day or night to go to hospital to be induced. They haven’t phoned me as of yet, is it worth ringing them or waiting it out? Has anyone else experienced this? Not really sure what I do if they don’t call me tonight.
Thank you!!
