How often a week does your child have beige freezer food?

Chips, fish fingers, potato waffles that kinda thing… we’re slipping into a habit of him having them more & more as it’s the only thing he’ll eat and I feel like a failure of a parent 😭 we’ve tried so hard to give him a good varied diet but he’s become so fussy… feel like such a bad parent

V rarely. My freezer desperately needs defrosting so I simply don’t have the room for all that stuff in there!

I think that stuff is totally fine. All foods in moderation. I would just say not to stop serving a wide variety just because you think they won’t eat it. We can’t learn to like foods we aren’t served. We do the one tried and true food included with any meal and then the rest is just whatever we happen to be having that day. Now that certainly doesn’t mean we don’t use freezer/convenience foods because we definitely do!

Basically never because we don’t eat that sort of stuff very often and she just gets served the same dinner as us every day.

I try to do the veggie versions or organic versions. Also organic bbq and ketchup made of whole foods if she does. She also like bananas, apples, berries, avocado, mandarins so i rotate those all day. Also a multivitamin but im look for a good one if anyone has recommendations.

My daughter isn't a fan of the textures of meat so we do use chicken goujons (frozen) often.

Some nights like tonight she had those with frozen chips (cos it's too hot to stand and cook)

Other nights she'll have whatever we are having (or similar). I usually make sure there is at least one thing on the plate I know she likes and with new stuff we have the deal that she smells, licks and tastes it. If she doesn't like it she doesn't have to eat it.

Never because my daughter eats what I eat and I don’t like those foods.

More often than I’d like. But I will use frozen fish/ nuggets with fresh food for example so the whole plate isn’t beige frozen food.

Rarely but here those things are expensive so I just don’t buy them. They’ve had that kinda stuff at friends or families houses though. Don’t feel guilty or like a bad parent. It’s hard getting kids to eat sometimes and as long as they’re fed and happy you’re doing great!!

Once a week maybe? It’s usually on a Tuesday or Friday as Tuesdays she has a club after school and we don’t get home until just before dinner and she’s starving so I do something quick for her (or heat up left overs) and then at the weekends we might all have a biege meal like pizza, chicken strips in a wrap with salad etc.

Nothing wrong with some nuggets & potato waffles every now and again!

Honestly I just find it easier to make one meal and thats it and we always try to eat together at the table so she usually just has whatever we do.

Kindergarten drama?!

I need to rant.
During school morning drop off my heart broke a bit for my 6 year old.
She is such an outgoing, all out kind of kid & I know for some, it can be a lot. Even for adults.
Today she shouted a classmates name to walk in with her and the girl turned around, gave the nastiest look & started to walk away faster. The look on my daughter’s face is what did it for me.
Has anything like this happened to your kid and how did it make you feel?
This is all new to me- having a child in school. I just don’t remember kindergartners being like that.
I wanted to turn around and take her home lol.
Thankfully summer is right around the corner for us!

Accident nursery poo,

Got a call from nursery today to say my daughter had taken her nappy/trousers off, got poo everywhere and even put some in her mouth 😩

Has anyone else’s little one ever gone through a phase like this? She is potty training!

Please tell me I’m not alone because I genuinely don’t know what to do next 😭

Do you make a weekly menu for your household? Are you a SAHM or working (not remotely) mom?

For those who don't make a menu, how do you plan grocery shopping and meals or snacks?

Upset

Am I wrong to get upset at my husband for calling his mom when he gets home to catch up and show her the babies???
So long story short my partner is a police officer works long hours and comes home tired sometimes just comes straight to sleep. Tonight however he came a bit early so I was excited and was going to wait to eat with him. When he got home I started making his meat and serving it on a plate when I suddenly hear him on the phone with my mom.
An I wrong for getting upset because I wanted his attention all to myself since I barely get that.?????

I lost hope

My husband and I are on a big nasty and ugly fighting streak. We just came back from holidays and everything was fine. But then he pushed me to agree to go visit his family this summer and start making plans without considering everything I had shred before about how I feel staying over at his parents place place for 2 weeks and the whole jetlag and exhaustion. Plus how every tine we travel our toddlers routine goes out the door and I just feel overwhelmed.

Nevertheless I agreed cause it’s important to him. But then he kept pushing for more.

I lost it. In front of our son.

We fought for 2 days straight. I called hin the C word and he said I am a bad person. Then he said he doesn’t want to get pregnant again until I sort myself out.

We called an emergency session with our couples therapist.

Ir helped for a few hours.

Now we’re back at fighting spree.

Not even the safe word works anymore.

He lied to me about not buying more hot wheels. We’re now over 100. He has a problem.

And apparently he is taking pictures of my shit around the house to prove that I am also messy. When he knows I am the one who tidies all the time, does dishes, laundry and cooking.

I felt like hitting him. I am losing control. Our son is witnessing some of this. And I know we cannot let it happen. But it does and none of us puts a stop. We both just keep adding.

I just feel like running away and leaving with my son. But I can’t.

My husband is not from here and he has no one but us.
