My baby is 10 weeks old today and he screams for hours. Like he's been awake since 11am and it's 6.20pm now. He feeds like a gannet and it's the only time I can get him to stop crying. My latch is good and no breastfeeding issues but he's on the breast so much that my nipples are red raw and I dread it every time. If I pick him up or try to soothe him he cries more so I have no choice but to leave him. I'm on my own so if I don't I can't eat. I just want him to settle but I'm making everything worse and am terrible at this cos all he does is cry. Nothing seems to work and he's cried himself hoarse which is just horrible to hear but I just don't know what to do

I totally understand you! My baby was the same this morning...I then give up and lay on the bed with him on my nipple... He calmed down just after he emptied his bowel.. a big poo...

Hi, my baby is 11 weeks old & he does have his fussy days and I feel horrible when he does. Unfortunately I’ve no advice to offer but I just wanted to let you know you’re doing an amazing job & you aren’t terrible at it. Leaving him etc while you eat is completely reasonable, you can’t look after him if you’re not your best self. I get help from my partner but during the week when he’s away working I do it myself and I count down the minutes until he’s home some days, so I can’t imagine how much harder it is doing it alone. I know it doesn’t feel like it right now but it will get so much easier. You’re winging it! Pls send me a message if you need someone to talk/vent to xx

Is there any chance that he could have an allergy? My first born was like this and she got diagnosed with a cows milk protein allergy and she changed literally overnight

Mine was the same for few weeks and i couldn’t put her down at all ,as all she was doing was screaming ,it helped to wear her in a baby carrier and i was hands free and she was happy in there …i was able to cook ,clean and look after my toddler ,the baby carrier saved us

My little boy was the same, he's formula fed and screamed after every bottle for hours! Latch was fine and the only thing that calmed him was giving more formula. Turns out he has silent reflux, hes now on omeprazole and hes like a different baby! Is there a chance yours might have this? They don't have to be spewing for them to have it. Hope your little one settles for you soon 🤞🏻
