Failed transfer

So our first IVF cycle including a fresh embryo transfer has failed. We’re devastated and our hearts are completely shattered. Does anyone have any advice? Is there anything we can do differently next time?

Honestly the only thing you can do is keep on hoping & staying strong🩷

I had 3 failed transfers before falling pregnant (1st was a miscarriage, 2nd didn’t take, 3rd was a miscarriage, 4th was our miracle).

The majority of people don’t fall successfully pregnant from their first round of IVF - so don’t feel like it’s anything personal or anything on you. Sometimes the embryo just isn’t viable. You 100% will get there & I hope the next transfer is more successful for you xx

Sorry for this. I’ve been there! IVF is a marathon not a sprint, each transfer has a 33% success rate so it may take a few transfers, but I’m sure you’ll get there. I’m 8 transfers down, got our toddler now pregnant with twins. 2 mc. 4 transfers didn’t take.

What I found worked was taking a Brazil nut of 2 a week before and well after transfer. Everyday after transfer I had a watermelon, beetroot and ginger smoothie (there’s scientific evidence of both these things working and v inexpensive)

Also, are you consultant led rather than standard nhs? That made a huge difference to us.

I am so sorry I wish there was coming from someone who has been doing ivf since 2019 with fail after fail till I got my little Bub last year been trying for 10 years

I am so sorry you have went through this. There isn’t anything you have done wrong unfortunately these things just happen. Don’t give yourself a hard time. I had a failed fresh transfer in Dec 2021 and that was the best graded embryo so I had high hopes and I was so heartbroken when it didn’t work. I had 2x frozen embryos had my first FET 2022 that was successful and I had my last embryo transferred on Wednesday. Just need to keep going you will get there ❤️

i'm a young mum and it annoys me when older mums...

when they think its so easy to look after a baby and yet their situation is so much worse than yours 'financially, emotionally and physically', i'm a young mum (early 20's) but my baby was planned we were in a good place financially and i knew i would have full support from my partner whether its with housework or the baby whilst hes also working and i am a sahm. but a older family member is having a baby soon and when i explained that yes it would be hard and try to give advice and tell her she needs a village as her partner is not the helpful kind and is unemployed, she acts so ignorant i honestly do not wish her any harm and have never but i thought the advice would be appreciated coming from someone who has gone through pregnancy and postpartum however she acts completely unfazed, they have no money and live by borrowing money that they never return. I have never been rude nor arogant but simply gave advice and warnings and she just acted like i was the problem and had no idea and a sh*t mum. and that she would be the perfect mum.

JUST BECAUSE SHES OLDER DOESNT MAKE HER WISER!

What do you tell your child when your parents aren't around?

My dad died when I was young and my mum and my stepdad badly abused me. I left the county at 17 and have only seen my mum once since. She didn't even try and meet up with my after I left. I had therapy in my 20s and I'm very happy in myself now with a good life but my 3 year old has started asking questions.

TTC

Finding ‘life’ tricky with TTC in terms of time when we are both so tired with work and our first (3 years). I’m on day 10 of my cycle, we haven’t had sex since before my period and my fertile window is opening which I’m going to try and have us be active for, but is anyone else struggling with the same? Also, is it ok to really only give it a go during this time and not like straight after my period?

Should I take a test

Hi im about 5 almost 6 months pp the month after I gave birth I got my cycle and it has been coming about right on time but I haven't had mines for may and its been almost 2 months now should I be worried 🙃😭
