Ready for another baby?

Everyone in this group has an 18 month old. How many of you are thinking about the next baby?

I find myself thinking about the next baby but I found it so hard with my little one and no village! That fourth trimester killed me.

I’m 24 weeks pregnant after my coil didn’t work lol. I would’ve waited longer but I’m quite happy and content with having a second right now. I found the newborn stage really hard but I’ve got through it so I know I can do it again

I’m a second time mum with two girls - they are 27 months apart, and it was when my first was 18 months we decided to try for another and fell almost straight away which was a huge shock!! I personally found it really tricky parenting on my own with a newborn and a 2 and a bit year old as we also didn’t have a village to fall back on! Initially my eldest was still not potty trained so two in nappies was stressful, and my newborn was a nightmare with sleep (still isn’t great at almost 18 months). Lots of mum guilt worrying my eldest was still so little and not my sole focus still. Absolutely wouldn’t change them, they play beautifully together now (both girls) but the first year or so I did find really tough solo parenting the vast majority of the time (husband working!). Definitely not meaning to put you off, as I say I wouldn’t change it now, I’m really hopeful them being this close in age will mean they grow up to be best of friends, but it was a rocky start and I did find it tough x

I’ve already had my second, he’s 5 months now and while I really struggled with postpartum both times it’s the best decision I ever made to have them so close together. My boys already love each other so much and because I had my toddler to look after I didn’t lose myself in the postpartum as much this time around x

I have a 3 week old already, there’s a day shy of 18 months between my two 😊

I’ve already had my second (14w old). It was a shock for us so I was STRESSED at first.. but tbh, it’s been the best. It’s more difficult logistically (examples: moving rooms around the house you often have to do 2 trips, it’s difficult getting them both in the car, etc). But them being together is the best. Can’t wait to see them interact more as they get older!

I already have 2 21 months apart and are planning a bigger gap for number 3 so I can actually enjoy the baby phase. Having a newborn while running after a slightly bigger baby is not for the faint of heart 😄

Too strict with first born?

Those who have had more than one baby, do you look back and think you were way too strict with first born?

I feel like I’ve been too harsh with my first baby. I wish I’d been softer with her 😔. I put so much pressure on myself to make her to have good manners, be kind, listen and just be well behaved

GD tips

I failed my 1hr glucose test from throwing up. I passed on the 3hr as I pass out when I get blood drawn. I now am going to have to take my blood sugar 4x a day and be treated as if I have GD. Anyone with GD have tips on how to remember to take the tests? I have terrible memory with medications and stuff!

Almost 40 and pregnant

Having babies in ur 20s is awesome. Having babies at 39 1/2 is not fun. No sleep, sciatica, butt hurts, pressure down below, nausea, irritability, constipation and need I say more. This baby is an absolute blessing but I’m ready to stop working and I’m only 13 weeks 😕. Starting next week I will be reducing my books drastically. I’ll work 2-3 days a week.

Checking In!

How’s everyone doing so far? Currently 12 weeks today! It’s crazy how fast time is flying for this pregnancy vs with my son. I pray it continues 🙏🏽 But I did see a post that stated as much as we want to no longer be pregnant, these are the last days of being just a parent to one child. (Those of us on baby number 2) So it’s making me want to be more intentional with my baby boy. Enjoy him more these next few months 🥰
