As a mum to a 98th centile 4 month old, I really don’t understand this one.

Had a 99 centile, and 97 centile baby, neither started early and were both ebf

My thought is if they’re chunky you’re doing something right lol my oldest wasn’t gaining weight so they recommended starting early

I don’t really have an opinion lol. I’ve never heard someone give this as a reason for starting solids, nor would I really care 🤷🏼♀️ not my kid.

My baby was born at 11lb and all I got was ‘he’ll never make it to 6 months on just milk’ 🙄

My son was 9.5 at birth and had always stayed big…I was told my breast milk won’t do it 6 months entirely.
It did whatever it was 🙃.at 4 months you wouldn’t believe how many people advised me to give some rice milk /porridge 🙂

🤦🏼♀️
A baby’s readiness for solids depends on their development, not their size.

I don’t see why people feel so strongly about this , why do you care if someone wants to give there baby solids at 4 months also I wouldn’t say porridge etc is a solid anyway it’s a lumpy milk at best …

There is absolutely no medical evidence that higher centile babies need solids introduced earlier. Honestly, the logic would say that they DON'T have a higher need for solids because they are obviously getting appropriate calories from their milk.
The opposite view really doesn't make sense.
