My son is about to turn 4. I want to homeschool but I don't really know where to start. Is now a good time to start homeschooling? Any advice or curriculum recommendations

Wow I was just looking into this today because I was curious. I didn’t even realize there were so many different ways to go about it…. there’s homeschooling, virtual public online school, and accredited online private school. I still don’t know if I personally wanna do any of them yet…. but I would love to know what other moms think about it and hear different experiences.

I mean it really depends on what you’re looking for when it comes to curriculum, my 4yo’s is pretty simple, basically everything we play can be a school lesson, for example, we have an electric balloon pump, we go through colors, numbers, adding, subtracting busted ones, smallest to largest, static electricity etc & we beat on each other w/the balloons & release them all over the living room, there’s so many lessons just w/this one activity & this can go for nearly every single game played. Then I’m not afraid of screen time, so he has ABC mouse & Lingo kids & I bought the whole ABC mouse kit w/ all the books, reading, phonics, scissors, numbers, letters etc very worth the $100 for the year, truly wraps up our curriculum. For STEM he’s kinda stuck on insects & amphibians, but he has that portable little “microscope” & loves learning the anatomy, environment & nutrition requirements of the creatures he finds, then he’s obsessed w/robots & space, so many great projects in these areas.

I have a 3 yr old. We use reading.com tues and thurs and then also on tuesdays we do a read from the bereinstein bears of science and then thurs we do a science activity related to that reading. Then on mon/wed/Fridays we start with meadowlark and then on Mondays and Wed we do math from Singapore Math pre-k. Sometimes we do our lessons in the backyard or the front patio or over a snack. We also do penmanship everyday. Just one letter a week though! I make her write it small, regular, and hugeee so she can color it. We do arts and crafts throughout the week that also have numbers, counting, and art in there sometimes even science. Lots of opportunities to play and interact with one another
On Fridays and Saturdays we play a game as a family like squishyland which is a letters/reading board game with play cards for different grades pre-k-3rd? So the game grows as they do.
