Has anyone had anymore visits from the health visitor since baby was born?

Mine is 8 montns now, and I only had my health visitor come to see him 1 time. I don't really know how often or how many times they are suppose to visit you, but when I had my daughter, I remember seeing them more than I have seen them when I had my son

My little boy is almost 9 months old and we’ve seen mine about 4 times. I’d give the office a ring to talk to them and arrange a visit :)

Had a couple of visits at the beginning as they needed to track weight closely After that, they wanted to track her closely still but had to turn up to their clinics to do so

I'm not sure if things are the same across Wales but when I first met my health visitor she told me that I'd see her for the first time at around 10 days pp, then again at around 6 weeks, then there was another time (can't remember exactly what age that was), from there on if have to attend the clinics for vaccines and weight check ins. Then I should have had a 6 month check in for weight, introduction to weaning etc, but in Wales the health visitors have been on strike for around 3 months and have extended the strike AGAIN until end of July so I haven't seen mine for months now. Are you in Wales? If so, this might be why you haven't seen them in a while, but you should have seen them more than once at the beginning🩷

I’m the same I’ve not seen mine since I think before 3 months and I think I was told for his 9-12 I have to go into our family hub for the appt. But we’ve not had a letter yet and he’s 8 months currently x 🤷🏽‍♀️

Only ever had the first visits when born and then a check at the office with both children. Next check is 9-12 months from memory and you take them there for a progress/development check.

They told me at the beginning (I think 5 days after baby was born?) that I’ll see a health visitor at 6 weeks (at a childcare centre) and then if they put me on the universal plan the next time I’ll see one is at 10 months or 1 year. Idk if this is normal.

I've had maybe 3 and coming out in June for a 6-9 month check

You get an appointment for a 9-12 month review but this can be on teams (they didn’t even ask to see my son as he was asleep during the appointment)

Perfumes and babies

My baby girl is 1 week old and we’ve had some family and friends visit, but not loads. The first time my mum came to see her and after she’d held her for a while baby smelt quite strongly of her perfume.

I don’t want to offend my mum (or anyone else) but I also don’t want my newborn to smell of Jo Malone 😫 is there any way I can mention this and request she doesn’t wear perfume to see the baby without offending?

Almost 15-month-old touching other children’s faces/heads – normal phase?

Hi mums, FTM mama here 😊

My little one is 15 months old and has started touching other children's faces and heads when we're out. Sometimes she'll pat their head while saying "gentle" because that's what we've been teaching her at home.

She isn't being aggressive and doesn't seem upset—just very interested in other children. I'm wondering if this is a normal phase at this age? Did anyone else's toddler do this, and did they grow out of it?

Any tips on how you encouraged respecting other children's personal space while they're still so little?

Breastfeeding mothers, how do you break the feed-to-sleep habit?

My baby is 4.5 months and he wakes every hour. I understand this is probably the end of a sleep cycle so completely natural but he doesn't know how to go to sleep without sucking on my boob. I've noticed he doesn't actually drink, he just uses me as a human dummy. Any advice on how to break this habit? I've tried patting/shushing/rocking instead when he wakes but he screams and wants the boob...
