Taking colostrum to the hospital

Mummas, those that have harvested colostrum in prep for baby, how are we taking it and keeping it safe in the hospital, I have over 30ml rn, and can go on for at least another week and few days before my csection, how are we transporting and keeping it safe for baby?

Take the syringes in a ziplock bag in a cooler and they should have somewhere for you to store them in the fridge.
I personally wouldn’t take more than 10ml because it will go to waste if not used. You can also express some while you’re in hospital if you run out!

They told me they don't have a freezer at the hospital so when the syringe defrost, it will get spoiled very quickly. So they said do not take it with you, send the dad to get it later instead.

I took mine with an ice pack in a bag, they put it straight in the freezer. I only took 5ml with me, luckily my milk came in straight away though

4th Baby ?

I had my 3rd baby last autumn and he has been my chillest by far, I love the dynamic of 3 but i can't shift the feeling of i don't want him to be my last. No one around me has gone to 3 let alone 4. I know its a whole new level once they are on the move, those who have had larger families did the dynamics change majorly with a 4th ?

Exclusively breastfeeding help!

My health visitor has suggested to try and breastfeed more often, but how do you exclusively breastfeeding mums do it?!
It feels impossible to me as I feel like my boy is constantly latched to me.

Also, we have had tickets to the theatre since last yesterday, so how do you leave your baby with someone if you’re only breastfeeding?

Baby is spitting his formula milk immediately whenever that is offered to him? Any advice on that? He’s currently on Kendamil.

Baby went underwater

Tonight I asked my husband if he would rather change the sheets on the bed, or give our 8 week old baby a bath. He chose the bath (which I normally do). I was a little nervous as he had never bathed him alone before (just watched me do it), but trusted they’d be fine. 4 minutes into the bath I hear my baby screaming upstairs. I was immediately worried since he loves his baths. I ran upstairs and my husband is holding him horizontal and smacking his back. He said he slipped in his tub and went underwater. I know it was an accident, but I’m honestly furious. It was a no-soap night, so it was just water, but obvs dirty water. We clean him well during diaper changes, but this boy poops a LOT. And I know when my husband changes him he’s not as thorough as me.

I’m worried about a few things;

1. Water in his lungs (and secondary drowning due to aspiration)
2. Bacterial infection from ingesting dirty bath water
3. Ear infection

Should I take him to the emergency room?

If this has ever happened to you please comment with your experience and if your baby was ok.

Lost my spark

Just been having a cry to my husband about how I’m feeling at the moment. Some holiday pictures from a few years ago popped up and I was looking good let me tell you! And now I look at myself and I just want to cry? I’ve really ruined myself and that’s not even from having a baby, it was even before that. I put a lot on when I was pregnant but have managed to lose that weight but now I’m just stuck feeling huge and gross. When I look at the old photos I just looked a certain type of different, not only about 5 stone lighter but just happier in general. I feel sad, I feel huge and I feel like I’m crap at calorie counting even though I know that’s the best way to ugh rant over. I’m off to go cry some more
