Long road trip with baby and toddler.

Has anyone ever done a road trip with their partner and small kids? I’m stressing about everything. Like should I thaw out my breastmilk ahead of time and store it in my insulated water bottle I use just for bm? Should I use our car mini fridge? Just I just nurse her when we stop. I have to feed her only when we’re stopped anyway bc I’d never feed her in her car seat and risk her choking without being able to pat her back. But should I bother bringing the last bit of breastmilk my husband feeds her with? She’s EBF except during my husbands shift at night or if I’m sore from nursing all day I might give her a bottle. She rarely takes it from me anymore. Also how to keep my toddler entertained? I got him a busy board but I couldn’t find one without small pieces so I’d have to give it to him with all the pieces stored away. (It still has zippers and stuff. I know they’ll sleep long but it’s a 22-24 hour drive (We’re moving fromMD to Texas and basically taking 2-3 days instead of driving for a day straight )

Baby went underwater

Tonight I asked my husband if he would rather change the sheets on the bed, or give our 8 week old baby a bath. He chose the bath (which I normally do). I was a little nervous as he had never bathed him alone before (just watched me do it), but trusted they’d be fine. 4 minutes into the bath I hear my baby screaming upstairs. I was immediately worried since he loves his baths. I ran upstairs and my husband is holding him horizontal and smacking his back. He said he slipped in his tub and went underwater. I know it was an accident, but I’m honestly furious. It was a no-soap night, so it was just water, but obvs dirty water. We clean him well during diaper changes, but this boy poops a LOT. And I know when my husband changes him he’s not as thorough as me.

I’m worried about a few things;

1. Water in his lungs (and secondary drowning due to aspiration)
2. Bacterial infection from ingesting dirty bath water
3. Ear infection

Should I take him to the emergency room?

If this has ever happened to you please comment with your experience and if your baby was ok.

Lost my spark

Just been having a cry to my husband about how I’m feeling at the moment. Some holiday pictures from a few years ago popped up and I was looking good let me tell you! And now I look at myself and I just want to cry? I’ve really ruined myself and that’s not even from having a baby, it was even before that. I put a lot on when I was pregnant but have managed to lose that weight but now I’m just stuck feeling huge and gross. When I look at the old photos I just looked a certain type of different, not only about 5 stone lighter but just happier in general. I feel sad, I feel huge and I feel like I’m crap at calorie counting even though I know that’s the best way to ugh rant over. I’m off to go cry some more

Night wakings

Hey guys, so I gave up telling his pediatrician this lol so I'm looking for help somewhere else. So my 13 month old has never slept throughout the night and he wakes up anywhere from 8 times to 15 times at night and I'm getting veryyyy exhausted and I feel like he is too his under eyes is black from lack of sleep sometimes he naps for 2 hours but most of the time just 30 minutes he is breastfed and he will not go back to sleep without it. Anyone experiencing or experienced the same thing is this actually normal?

No idea why my baby cries

Most of the time I have no idea why my 7 week old baby cries. Her hungry cry is obvious (very loud and persistent), and if it’s not hunger then I always check her nappy. If nappy is clean then I assume she’s tired and will try to put her to sleep. It feels like such a guessing game each time, and I’m just winging it completely. She is breastfed so I basically offer her the boob when I can’t seem to comfort her (to be fair, the boob usually works).

I thought by 7 weeks I should have developed a better understanding of her needs/likes/dislikes, or how she likes to be held/comforted etc. I feel a bit inadequate as a mum (and putting her on the boob all the time feels like a cheat?!) It also means my husband can’t really help.

Does this make sense, and does anyone else feel the same?
