4 weeks post c section - scar still wet
Looking for advice or similar situations. I am 4 weeks post c section and i’ve had a few issues with my scar, initially i got an infection which i completed a course of antibiotics for. i’ve been off antibiotics for around 2 weeks and my scar is healing nice on the sides but i have a overhang and the middle has healed with a ‘lip’ i’ve had this checked and they said it’s not open and is healing but won’t be very ‘cosmetic’
i do everything i can to keep it dry and clean but i still everyday has a small amount of light yellow fluid which has a slight smell but compare to infection smell it’s nothing.
Could this be an ongoing infection or is it just because of the overhang. My doctors surgery is super unhelpful and won’t book me a review, my post partum check up is also being done via telephone (despite me objecting) so i can’t even have my wound reviewed during that.

It could well be infected. You’re still under the maternity unit until like 6 week PP I believe?! So maybe call in and ask to be seen. Or go to a walk in out of hours (that’s what I did).
It’s appalling your 6 week check is over the phone. They need to physically check baby. That’s bad. Really bad. I would write to the practice manager and complain.
Your postpartum check up shouldn't be by phone, they need to do physical developmental checks on baby (their hips etc) and record this in baby's red book.
