Dummy

What age did you cut off the dummy? My boy is 20 months and he loves his dummy and I’ve tried to get him down to just using it for nap and bed but he likes to have it in during the day too and will scream and scream if you take it away. He’s also quite a cautious boy so in social settings relies on it for soothing when exploring away from me. He’s talking away so not worried about speech but his teeth do worry me. My aim is to get him to only use it for bed and nap until he’s 2 and then go cold turkey but is leaving it until he’s 2 too long?? Is anyone elses LO the same? I would be presistant in taking it away now but he doesn’t take to a comforter or anything and I feel as though it’s very much a safety object for him when he’s grasping his surroundings

We still use it but only for sleep. Which is odd that she wants it at home but at daycare they tell me she goes to sleep just fine without it

We are exactly same as you. Try to keep them for naps/ sleep but goes absolutely nuts if she sees one. She will just randomly appear with one she’s squirreled away 🤣 I think just go slowly and with what works for you. Don’t stress too much which I know is hard when everyone goes ln about them being bad for their teeth and sleep but at 20 months old I honestly don’t see it being a problem. Just small changes and see how they get on with it I think, don’t put too much pressure on it ❤️ I’ll update how we get on too 🤣

9 month old sleep habit

Hi everyone, I wondered if anyone could help my almost 9 month old has suddenly decided she doesn’t want to sleep in her cot only on me all night. My back is killing me as a result and I don’t know how to get her out of this habit and back into her cot which she used to be fine with. Everytime I put her down she wakes up☹️

Feeling guilty

Anyone else who has a toddler and a newborn feeling really guilty about bringing the new baby in? My little boy is 2 and a half and we’ve been home for almost a week with the new baby, it’s been multiple daily meltdowns, screaming, crying, not wanting to do anything we ask and everything is a battle with him. I’m feeling overwhelming guilt and keep thinking we’ve made a huge mistake and I can’t stop crying about it. Please can someone who’s been through this tell me it gets better 🙏🏼
