Apologies first of all for the long post! First pregnancy currently 8w 4d.
33 years old
I told some friends about my pregnancy and some close colleague’s who I know will support me and look after me at work if I have a day I feel rough etc . I told my colleagues that I have been extremely bloated by the end of the day and after dinner and two of them (in their late 40’s and mid 50’s) both came back with lots of negative comments saying “I shouldn’t be bloated this early on”, “most people wouldn’t even know they were pregnant this early” “with both of my pregnancy’s I was never bloated in the first trimester and definitely not with a first pregnancy as your body doesn’t know what it’s doing”
I felt a bit upset and a bit on the defence as both of their last pregnancy’s were 14 and 15 years ago and I felt like they were telling me how to feel and how to not feel and what I was experiencing wasn’t normal?
I’ve got my first midwife appointment early next week that I am nervously excited for! I’ve been having nausea late at night or waking me up early hours every other night but haven’t actually been sick.
Couldn’t bare the smell of salmon that I was about to cook the other night and had me gagging for half an hour, my partner had to get rid of it in the end. The first 4-7 weeks I had very sore breasts and enlarged nipples until the last week they don’t feel as heavy/painful.
Have been very tired and bloated by the end of the day and having a nap after work.
Isit normal to have symptom changes around 8weeks? I’m so worried that I’ve now told a few people, my symptoms have changed and what if something has gone wrong? 😔
Also had a scan at 6w & 2d by a gynaecologist just to confirm all was ok and dr said she could see the heart beating 💕
Congrats to all future Mumma’s can’t wait to hear all your story’s 🥰

I wouldn't share anything further with them regarding your pregnancy to keep their negative energy away, you definitely don't need that! But i also have been experiencing bloating and i have to force myself to eat (also due Jan 27) sending love and light 💕✨

They seem to be very ignorant. For most women the first trimester is the hardest... I would not share anything else with them anymore...

I am pretty much in the same boat. Bloated and gassy. It’s because your digestion slows down in early pregnancy and it is completely normal to have and feel early on. It was one of my earliest symptoms. I also have had to be careful around some people I have told but the important people, my family are behind me and excited, and my partner has been very caring and supporting through it all. I also haven’t really had any sickness, just waves of nausea so it sounds like you are doing everything right mama ❤️
