My little girl will be 3 in July and suddenly night times have become an absolute battle. I can get her to go to sleep okay, however, for a week now she has woken up in the middle of the night absolutely screaming saying that it’s scary and refusing to go back to sleep without me staying in her room with her (which is not comfortable at 34 weeks pregnant on a make shift floor bed out of sofa cushions!) has anyone else’s little one gone through the same thing and does anyone have any tips on what stopped the night wakes for them?

There is the last sleep regression as they turn 3 and the fact you are so close to having a new baby is probably causing some separation anxiety.
Could she come to your bed instead so you are at least comfier?

We went through this with our then 2.5 year old (3 in September). She was telling us spiders were climbing up the walls and all around, waking up screaming in fear. We used things like "magic" spray (carpet foam) and a toy wand to make her room safe and then also just were consistent with a positive bedtime routine and also reinforcing she was safe/her room was safe/mummy and daddy won't let anything happen to her whilst she is sleeping. At the time she was still wearing sleep sacks to bed, we upgraded her to a toddler duvet and that also helped her feel more protected/contained.
