Gallbladder removal positive stories

Does anyone have any positive stories about gallbladder removal? I feel like I’ve only been hearing negative stories :(

When I first heard it’s an easy fix to the attacks I felt relieved but when I saw experiences online it made me feel anxious

Me! I had mine out in February and literally so far the only thing I can’t eat is apparently scampi 😂 my life is back to how it was pre-diagnosis. I can drink things like coffee etc and everything is normal digestion/bowels wise

The actual removal for me saved my life, I had a stone stuck in my bile duct between my liver and gallbladder which caused me to go jaundice and then I got sepsis as my gallbladder then exploded. The actual surgery, I woke up bursting for a wee lol. The nurses told me to wait a while, I think I waited 2 hours and then I got up and walked to the toilet. I did feel groggy after surgery and slightly sore but nothing compared to the gallbladder attacks its self.
I had drains after, removing they literally pull it out. Strange feeling although it doesn’t hurt.

What negative stories have u heard?

I did develop a health condition after relating to my body not being able to reabsorb the bile in my body which I’m now on medication for but in hind sight, if I didn’t have the gallbladder removed I would of died!

I had mine removed in October last year.
Surgery itself was quick, I had to be at the hospital for 8am, was taken to surgery around 9.30, in recovery by 11 and sent home just after 12.
I was given poor advice by the hospital about my bandages (they told me to leave them on for 5 days and not change them) and ended up with one of the scars mildly infected, my GP took care of me and I had a week of antibiotics which fixed it all.
I was sore for the first week, had to be a bit careful for 2ish (avoided picking up either my 1 or 3 yo too much then) then fine.
No appetite for the first few days which is normal after anesthesia but since then I've been able to eat completely normally!
Not a single regret! I waited over a year from being diagnosed with gallstones to getting my surgery date. Attacks were unbearable as I'm sure you know! That is all completely in the past now!
Honestly, get rid of it! X

Hospitals

I am currently pregnant and have not had any scans or tests done (5 months) my midwife has sent out a referral for Birmingham women’s but they haven’t gotten back. I had my first child at heartlands and did not have a good experience therefore I do not want to go back there. Can anyone recommend a good hospital but not too far from Birmingham city centre.

LMP vs Dating Scan

I know due dates are estimations, however I am in my third trimester and I have noticed conversation start to shift towards induction or c section purely based off my dating scan, no other indicated risk or concern.

With my first he arrived at 40+12 after multiple sweeps.

This is my second pregnancy, LMP estimated date: 16/08/2026. Dating scan placed me a week further and my revised due date is 08/08/2026.

I’m just wondering
1) second time mum’s did your baby come before, after or around the same time as your first

2) also how to frame conversations around due date estimations. I am going for a VBAC and despite being classed as low risk, I feel that my due date is already being used as a tactic! I want to give my body the opportunity to go into spontaneous labour without pressure especially if there is a weeks discrepancy.

So far they are suggesting not going over 41 weeks.

Thanks

Vaginal birth after emergency c-section

My sons birth ended in an emergency c-section due to complications. He will be nearly 4 and a half when I give birth this time. Has anyone had a vaginal birth after an emergency c-section?

Just a rant!

Just getting frustrated over here- I have been on the list for an elective c section since my first midwife appointment. I will be 39 weeks tomorrow and still don't have my date through. Midwife says all I can do is wait and the hospital is very busy at the moment and lots of people on the list but assures me it will come through. It's not that I need the c section asap, it's more that I want to know the date asap. Part of my reason for wanting an elective is because I don't cope well with the unknown and thought having the date in advance would help. So frustrating but I guess all I can do is wait 🫠

I had my 12 week scan on Tuesday and I was just wondering if anybody has any ideas if the baby is a boy or a girl just a little fun.

38+1

I have my midwife appt today I am going to ask for a stretch and sweep- but this morning omg! - pressure has been unreal I keep getting random shooting pains in my lower abdomen and I’d say I have like 3 of these an hour - I’m also feeling this pain in rectum with constant intense shooting pains that take me by surprise, I’ve now legit had a full clear out but pain has not subsided, the pelvic pressure is that bad I’m actually unable to walk properly. Walking like a telly tubby Has anyone else had the same and gone into labour?!
