Scan week before due date?

I’m currently at the hospital having had a 36 week growth scan which they have confirmed his heads down and on the report he’s currently weighing 6lbs 9oz. The reason I have had growth scans is due to having low pap a so everything seems ok now. They’ve told me I’ll be having another scan at 39 weeks, has anyone had this before? I didn’t think I would be but I’m waiting to see the dr now and I’m going to tell them I’m wanting a c section due to my past pregnancies this will be 4th, just wondering why they’d book me in for another scan week before my due date will this still be the case if I’m wanting a c section?

Its standard for growth path. 1 at 12 and 20 weeks as usual then again at 32, 36 and 39 weeks. Depending kn if baby comes sooner or they book you in for c section you might not have 39 week scan. Defo speak to your midwife and they can confirm

Hospitals

I am currently pregnant and have not had any scans or tests done (5 months) my midwife has sent out a referral for Birmingham women’s but they haven’t gotten back. I had my first child at heartlands and did not have a good experience therefore I do not want to go back there. Can anyone recommend a good hospital but not too far from Birmingham city centre.

LMP vs Dating Scan

I know due dates are estimations, however I am in my third trimester and I have noticed conversation start to shift towards induction or c section purely based off my dating scan, no other indicated risk or concern.

With my first he arrived at 40+12 after multiple sweeps.

This is my second pregnancy, LMP estimated date: 16/08/2026. Dating scan placed me a week further and my revised due date is 08/08/2026.

I’m just wondering
1) second time mum’s did your baby come before, after or around the same time as your first

2) also how to frame conversations around due date estimations. I am going for a VBAC and despite being classed as low risk, I feel that my due date is already being used as a tactic! I want to give my body the opportunity to go into spontaneous labour without pressure especially if there is a weeks discrepancy.

So far they are suggesting not going over 41 weeks.

Thanks

Vaginal birth after emergency c-section

My sons birth ended in an emergency c-section due to complications. He will be nearly 4 and a half when I give birth this time. Has anyone had a vaginal birth after an emergency c-section?

Just a rant!

Just getting frustrated over here- I have been on the list for an elective c section since my first midwife appointment. I will be 39 weeks tomorrow and still don't have my date through. Midwife says all I can do is wait and the hospital is very busy at the moment and lots of people on the list but assures me it will come through. It's not that I need the c section asap, it's more that I want to know the date asap. Part of my reason for wanting an elective is because I don't cope well with the unknown and thought having the date in advance would help. So frustrating but I guess all I can do is wait 🫠

Boy 💙 or Girl 🩷

I had my 12 week scan on Tuesday and I was just wondering if anybody has any ideas if the baby is a boy or a girl just a little fun.

Sibling names way too similar or could it work?

I have a son Edward (we often call him Edward or Teds, he isn’t abbreviated to Eddie) but ive fallen in love woth the name Eidi for a girl 🙈😫 absolutely love it but feel like its way to similar to Edward 😅
I was thinking about using the name Eidith and abbreviate to Eidi.
Edward and Eidith
Edward and Eidi
I guess it kind of works unless Edward is ever abbreviated to Eddie then its just far too similar. Abd he might very well end up going but Ed/Eddie at school ect.
Whats everyone elses opinions?
