dog mom guilt after baby 😭😭

Anyone else feeling awful to not have time/energy for their pets anymore after having kids?

I have a very high energy, high demand, Shepherd dog, and I used to take her out every day for basically an hour to get as much energy as possible out of her. She was everything to me outside of work I would think what to do with her like if she was my kid I swear.

Now if it’s a good week, I maybe have the energy to take her out once a week because even if I go on walks with my baby taking her with us it’s a lot. She’s reactive to other dogs so can’t go where other people usually go and now it’s getting so hot where we are that I can’t be out with the baby most of the day.
Idk I feel terrible overall and mostly when she comes close to me whining to get attention (which is all day everyday) and I’m already overstimulated/tired so end up pushing her away….

I know once my baby (4mo old now) grows up she’ll have a buddy for life to play with but I still feel terrible now because we just don’t have time and energy for her anymore :(

I have two dogs and feel the same way. Can barely get them out lately and I feel terrible! I know it’s temporary but they don’t know that :( 😭😭

Eugh I know how you feel… I have a shepherd mix, and before my daughter was born I was literally googling ‘what if I don’t love my baby as much as my dog’ lol. He sat with me all night when contractions started - he’s been more supportive than most people. But I used to walk him 3x a day without fail- now I take him round the block in my lunch break (I work from home) but he so clearly wants more. But he also has behavioural issues/trauma so it’s not like I could even give him to a family member temporarily. I feel horrible - he doesn’t ask for much - and I miss him.

Starting next month I’ve decided to start taking him to dog daycare twice a week, so at least he has that. There is one close to me that offers 1-1 sessions for less-friendly dogs, and has really experienced staff- I can’t afford every day but I figure just that will at least give him some time to run around and get out of the house…

Have you heard of sniffspot? Its a website you came use to find dogparks or other spaces you can rent (kind of like renting a car or a small Airbnb but not as expensive) it might be great for your situation with a more reactive dog. They can run free and wild in the space usually and you dont have to worry about other dogs. Some are even backyard pools etc. It might be easier than going on long walks to rent the space and set up for a small family picnic and let her roam and run.

Same, but know once ur little is bigger they will be so involved with the dog!!! We had 3 dog, one past away last year, but if the dogs are not in the room she cries, she loves taking the dogs on a walk. Sometimes she will look for the leash and walk the dog around the house😅 if u can find some other way to help let out the energy, I didn't know my dog loved bubbles, till we started doing bubbles for my girl. The dog for hours will try to catch the bubbles. We also discovered, just splashing water and fishing. Like literally we have a fishing rode that we use to tie a ball then cast it out the dogs with go afther it and we then reel it in back in. So funny to watch gets the kid and dog tierd lol

100%! I have a standard poodle who also used to get at least an hour of outside time a day… now it’s a quick walk between both my husband and myself. I feel awful, but dogs are (hopefully) understanding and it’s only temporary. As the baby gets older, you’ll find more time for the dog and he’ll be there happy as ever! I just try to give my dog some separate intentional attention every day to know she’s still loved and always will be. I also do mental stimulation for her — might not be running in an open field, but keeps her busy and entertained. I tie up treats in a towel and ordered a few dog mental stimulation toys of amazon

What should i do?

A long story short,
Me and my bf have a 2 year old. Throughout my pregnancy my bf wasn’t super supportive, once i had our son he was so good for a couple weeks, and since then he has basically left most of it to me. Night feeds, cleaning, food shop, I pay the bills because he is in debt, he does his hobby on either a Saturday or Sunday and an evening or two during the week.. which involves alcohol and drugs.
I do the cooking, washing up, wash his clothes, obviously look after our son.
He will sometimes do the bedtime routine and cook maybe 2/4 times a month.

Anyway, my family think i’d be best without him but somehow i cannot seem to let go. I’m scared I’ll regret it.

Would you stay or leave? And any advice would be appreciated, thank you

Meal times!

How are we coping with meal times?! 😩 Especially those that do it single handedly (my partner is a chef so spends evenings at work) I'm really struggling to juggle trying to keep my 12.5 month old out of trouble/happy whilst I'm cooking dinner and it just all ends up in shambles, i don't like cooking at the best of times but even less when I've either got my little boy tugging at my legs or if i put him in his high chair with toys, he just ends up screaming after 5 mins🤦‍♀️ i don't even know what I'm looking for to be honest just need to know I'm not the only one thats struggling with this part of parenting 😮‍💨 pic of how dinner went tonight for fun 😭🤣

If you’re at a close friend / relative’s house do you ask if you can eat their foods or snacks or do you just help yourself ?

I’m trying to be better at eating nutritious
meals so I meal prep my meals and snacks. Went to get my snack to see it’s all gone 😒 I’m always the type of person to ask if it’s okay to eat something first if it does not belong to me (even my husband). Like I know Greek yogurt and nuts are his go to snack at night. I’m not gonna eat them all/ the last of it because I know he won’t have anymore - especially without asking!! I’ll add that he probably wouldn’t make a big fuss about this if I did but I still would not.

Is my husband being unhelpful or am I hormonal?

I’m 40 weeks tomorrow. My husband wanted to get some beer yesterday but decided not to in case we needed to go to the hospital. Today I was meant to have sweep but they couldn’t do it because my cervix wasn’t open. So he said he was going to get some beer because baby isn’t definitely coming today. He got himself a pizza for dinner and nothing for me and didn’t greet me when he came home, just went straight to bed.
My issue is 1. How do you know that? 2. He’s pampering himself, meanwhile I’m now having bad cramps and miserable! And 3. The midwife said for me to relax and for him to help with oxytocin and he’s being super unhelpful! I now don’t want to be around him because he’s bad vibes and I’m not feeling very oxytocin-full at all!
