Baby Doll Recommendations

Hey everyone,
I’m currently looking at buying a baby doll for my daughter’s upcoming 3rd birthday.

There are so many brands, I can’t believe how many there now are. Let alone the technological advancement in the past 20 years. Who felt the need to develop a doll that can wet itself? Wouldn’t a toddler feel inadequate when their baby doll has superior language skills? 😂

Of course that also means prices range from reasonable to insane. As if a real baby isn’t expensive enough… I absolutely don’t want to spend more than £25 for the doll alone, if there is a bundle deal with a baby and accessories I would go up to £30. Although I’d prefer to spend as little as possible !

Does anyone have any recommendations for the best brands to look at? Or any experience of which doll’s capabilities were actually enjoyed / irritating / inconvenient?
More than anything, please tell me if there is a particular one that left you questioning your will to live / haunts you for some reason? She’s already got a recorder - I am perilously close to the edge of my sanity.

Am I the a**hole?

So our baby is 8 months old, not a great sleeper but I'm not used to waking up every hour/2 hours ever night 😭😂
Basically partner works Monday -Friday 9-3:30 which I understand is still draining, my partner doesn't have to wake up for anything at night as I breastfeed so it's just me that baby will settle for at the moment (I sleep in the same room as baby )
As I don't get much time to myself day or night as baby goes to bed around 6:30pm and I stay with her for the night, sometimes on the weekend I just want an hour or 2 just to relax but my partner says "well I haven't had any time to myself"
But they have from 6:30 until they go to sleep every night plus uninterrupted sleep?!
Am I the a hole for wanting a little time to myself?

Stranger touched my newborns hand

I was out for a coffee today and an old lady touched my 4 week old baby's hand. I know she was well intentioned & I belive she had a learning disability, but I've been completely freaking out since getting home.

I used wet wipes on his hands when I was at the cafe and put his scratch mittens on so that he couldnt put his hands in his mouth. When we got home I put some hand sanitizer on my hands and the rubbed the excess onto his hands, but before wiping it off with another wet wipe.

I'm so scared that he's going to get sick and I cannot stop myself from spiralling. I know its irrational and that this type of thing happens to lots of babies, but I feel sick with worry right now & can't stop crying. Has anyone else had a similar experience and did things turn out okay?

Nursery vs Nappies

I need advice…

On Monday 1st June I dropped my child off at nursery for her first day, with a full pack of 72 size 5 pampers nappies and 3 packs of wipes. On Thursday 11th June they have asked for more nappies; so working full time and navigating life as a working mum I ran to the shops and Friday morning I’ve dropped off a full pack of pampers size 5+. I’m now concerned that my child’s nappies are being used on other kids as she came home today in the size 5+ and it clicked in my brain that I previously provided them with size 5 pampers and surely they haven’t used all of them yet!

For reference, she attends nursery 4 times a week (2 full days and 2 half days). On her handover sheets, it seems she’s only being changed maximum 5 times on full days and 3 times on half days. Surely they haven’t used that many on my child?

Has anyone come across this before and how did you address it?

P.S - I will no longer be providing full packs, however I’m new to this and thought it would make mine and nursery’s life easier to ensure she always had nappies. But I cannot afford to be replacing them like this 😭

We have each other on Life360 and idk if she thinks I’m an idiot but I can see when she’s home and I know she can’t be that busy she can’t reply to a text like come on we went from hanging out every single day to this crap this is why I’m so over getting close to people like I’m so tired of finally thinking I have a friend for life then out of no where stupid crap like this happens

UBER

HI, Anyone successfully taken an uber with baby carseat and frame put in the boot? I don't drive and hubby can't always take me to things. My carseat can go into a car without the base. Bit I've not tried it yet. I just wondered if it was relatively easy. As there's no option to say you want to travel with a baby. My LO can get upset if it's not matched with his nap, so obviously I'd want a driver whose comfortable if he's upset.
