Since i’ve had my baby’s she has bumped her head a few times and it TERRIFIES me. First around 6 weeks I was closing the door and it tapped her head. Then at like 3 months, I was sitting up from the bed and she was in it with me and I elbowed her forehead. Now she’s 4.5 months and I was holding her on my hip while we were sitting in a chair and she threw herself back and hit the back of her head on the corner of a book while we were in her room. I literally feel so bad because I wasn’t focused enough I was reading a text and it happened so fast. I feel so freaking awful like i’m a bad mom!! and now I noticed a pea sized knot and a super tiny superficial cut (literally the size of a hair follicle i only noticed bc the blood is dry) but when it happened she like hesitated to cry and if im being honest im not 100% sure she hit the book bc she leaned forward so fast but im assuming she did bc she cried for like .5 seconds and then i moved her to my other side and she was fine. This happened 4-5 hours ago and she has napped since and she’s feeding normally. but im freaking out.

First take some deep breaths. Your baby girl is okay. Secondly accidents will happen throughout her being a baby and then even more once she starts to mobilise etc. It’s part of life and as long as it’s not a serious bump/cut which it isn’t she’ll be fine. The good news is she’s eaten and had nap as normal.
