Hi everyone. Im traveling to Spain next week and ive just read about the new rule they have introduced at border control where they can stop you and ask for proof of your financial situation?! I've read online that you have to prove you have more than £1000 in your bank account to fund your stay or you can be refused entry.. its random spot checks apparently. Has anyone else come across this? As a mum of 4 who has saved hard for a family holiday im not sure I'll have this money avaliable after bills next week. I work part time and have only just come off maternity leave🥺 panicking ....

We travelled to Spain 2 weeks ago. Questions are asked in a screen, you click yes and nothing else is expected. No one asked for proof.
Have a wonderful trip! You’ll have a great time! 🇪🇸

Oh they ask on a screen and rarely do they ask for proof from experience, it’s more like so they have your answers and background IF you were then to outstay the allowed time. It’s been in place for a little while, we’ve been abroad 3-4 times since these extra checks have been introduced and never been actively asked x
