Can teething cause a baby to cry on the bottle because the motion of sucking on the teat hurts their gums? My daughter is about to cut teeth any day and for the past 3 days she cries on the bottle like it’s hurting her gums. Every time I check to see if a tooth has cut she cries so I’m guessing her gums are super sore atm.

So yes but more because the sucking motion triggers more blood flow through the area and since it's swollen/inflamed it hurts more cause it gets more sensitive. Using either pain relief before a feed (within the advice for dosage) or giving fridge cold milk and allowing for longer breaks while having the bottle will allow her to be comfortable enough to eat ❤️

I realise bottle feeding is different.
I’m exclusively breastfeeding and mine just stays glued to my boob when teething, especially at night.

Yes, our LO was like this, particularly with her first 2 teeth. Like Katherine said, you can try pain relief before bottles, or teething gels/powders, etc. Also can get more dairy into them with stuff like yogurt (our LO will mainly only eat yoghurt when teething) and giving some vit D drops if you're worried about how much they're getting from the bottles.
