At my recent midwife appointment, my fundal height was 2cm smaller than expected and will assess this at my next midwife appointment in two weeks time. Anyone else had this and did baby catch up? I'm a bit anxious and would love to hear your experiences, feel like being referred for a scan now would have been better rather than waiting another 2 weeks.. ? First pregnency.

2cm bigger or smaller than expected is within normal range if it gets a bigger gap you will be further assessed don’t stress

I was always measuring small, and baby was completely fine every single time, I just had a smaller bump. She came at 36+2 at 6lb9oz.
Don’t stress yourself out about it too much!!
As with what Samantha said, 2cm above or below is completely normal, any more than that is when they send you for a scan, I lost count of the amount of growth scans I had 😅 but baby was completely fine, just all curled up, and because I’m tall my bump was even smaller

My bump measured small with my first baby and she was 8lb 1oz when she was born with no issues. I'm not convinced that it's an exact science tbh, there's room for error when you think about it - where they put the tape measure on you, how tight they pull it etc.!

My fundal height in my last pregnancy was always “too small”. It was under the 10th centile. I was sent for a scan. Had a 95th centile baby in there. My current midwife says fundal height measurements are pretty inaccurate and unhelpful so please do not worry.

Fundal height is very subjective, and don't forget, it's measuring everything, not just baby. It also depends what position baby is in, certain positions can make the bump measure smaller. Do you have Badger notes? If so you can look at your chart and see where you plotted - anything over the 10th centile won't have triggered the scan protocols in most trusts as far as I know.
I had a scan at my first measurement a couple of weeks ago, because I plotted (well) below the 3rd centile. On the scan they estimated baby to be on the 14th. My son was born on the 18th centile so they aren't concerned, but I will likely have more scans after each measurement.
I'm a student midwife myself so if there's anything you're not sure about on your notes just shout and I'll see what I can tell from it 😊 but if you're really worried, check with your midwife.
