I was proposed to my fiancé during my pregnancy, I want to be married to this man but I feel I want time to recover as I am currently 3 month postpartum and want time to get the hang of parenthood and time to feel somewhat myself again. I want time to go back to the gym being healthier like how I was before pregnancy and be in a better mindset to plan a wedding but having our daughter out of wedlock I feel a lot of pressure from my fiancé as he is an orthodox Christian (I would consider myself a ‘baby’ Christian who would love to get married in a church). I didn’t grow up in the church and within Christianity but I’ve always found great importance with what a marriage is - not something I take lightly and I see a wedding as a day I want to enjoy and feel my best. He wants us to get married asap.
I need advice if it is best to get married asap or wait it out when I feel ready (could be in a years time). Or if there is any other suggestions/advice.
