Newborn sleeping

So I'm moving into a two bed flat and gonna have a nursery set up for lil bubba and I've already brought a cot at the ready for it! I've seen that your baby should sleep in the same room with you until they are 6 months old or so but I asked my family and a lot of them said they didn't do that (including when I was a baby), I was just wondering what other people did when they had a newborn as I'm confused on what to do?😭

The safest place for a baby to sleep for the first 6 months (including naps) is in a room with an adult. This greatly reduces the risk of SIDS. When we were kids the advice was different, and since introducing safer sleeping advice the rate of SIDS has dropped drastically. So it’s different from when we were babies, but worth following the latest guidance.

They should be in a Moses basket or next to me crib in the same room as you until 6 months due to risk of sids and also baby will likely wake you to want a feed every few hours x

Next to me until 5 months old then moved to own room , do whatever you feel comfortable with.

We kept our baby in the same room until 8 months. We definitely wanted to do the 6 months minimum as it's protective against SIDS. Your family probably didn't do that as there wasn't as much research into SIDS then and it wasn't common knowledge what can help and what can be dangerous. When I was a baby I had a cot with bedding, toys etc which we now know is also unsafe and baby should be in a completely clear space.

Mine was a very noisy sleeper so I had to move his bassinet out of my room just before 4 months and sleep trained him. I used a baby camera monitor. It was quite scary at first when he didn’t wake up for a night feed.

Co sleeping babies and nursery

Hi everyone. I’m worrying a little about my 9 month old who is due to start nursery in 2 months time. We have co slept since he was born and no matter how hard I have tried to transition him to his own room and crib over the last few months, he does not settle. We’ve tried everything other than the ferber method which I’m just not comfortable with if I’m completely honest.

I fear I have shot myself in the foot however as I’m worried how my LO will cope with sleep at nursery. Has anyone else been in this position before? And how did your babies cope with the transition?

Mmr private

Hello mums who have gone private to get the mmr instead of the mmrv vaccines. We’ve decided to go private as my daughter has already had chicken pox. Curious, will you get the second dose at 18 months or delay to 3 years like it was previously for our older kids?

Sleep regression

My little girl is 4.5 months old. I’m in week 2 of what I think is the 4 month sleep regression. Does it normally go on for this long?! #struggling
