Does sleep deprivation stop you reaching weight loss goals?

My little man is almost 2 but still quite a bad sleeper waking us 2-3 times a night. Hes only slept through once....
I find the tiredness and fatigue make it so hard to get my ass to the gym and then when I do I suffer from exhaustion for a few days afterwards. Im feeling a bit stuck at my current weight..not sure if it's just laziness on my part and excuses?
Any tips or suggestions? My BMI is 29...ive got about 10-15kg to lose and im seriously struggling with eating crap from being so tired as well

Imo massively.

Good sleep is a key factor in weight loss and ensuring the body doesn’t feel stressed and being tired for me anyway leads to huge sugar cravings x

I can't rember the names of them but lack of sleep raises hormones that make you feel hungry. Good sleep is definitely important!

This is a time to give yourself grace. Eating well and working out are INCREDIBLY hard on low sleep. You could try focusing on mini workouts (10 minutes or less) a few times a day. Meal prep helps, but only if you're the type that has that burst of energy and eats leftovers.

Also, I tend to find that there are foods that take energy to make, but there's also foods that take energy to eat. When I'm really exhausted, it's harder to eat the foods that I know are better for me even if they've already been made. Finding that balance of good for my body and comforting has been my focus recently.

Lack of sleep raises your cortisol levels (stress hormone) making it difficult to effectively drop weight even if you are eating right

Leftover medication

When I was pregnant I had gestational diabetes. I was only able to get a box of 5 insulin pens at a time on prescription and therefore have 3 full and completely unused pens (no needles) left with a date for use in 2028. They’ve all been properly stored in the fridge.

Seems a shame to bin them yet impossible to pass them on to anyone and pharmacies etc won’t take them. Does anyone know if there is anything I can do with them or do they just have to go in the bin?

3h first nap

Anyone else’s 4 month old sleeping for 3 hours in their first nap? I don’t wanna wake her but online it says you should only let them have 2 hours per nap, she goes to bed at 9 every night with no problems and wakes up at 6:30 - 7 every morning, only had one issue last night with her having a small kick off and going bed at 9:30 and waking up at 5:30 this morning so ok starting to think it could be a problem, should I wake her? Thank youse

When did you come on your period postpartum?

How long did it take for you to get periods back?

With my first, I didn't have a period for 6 months and was breastfeeding. This time round I'm 8 weeks postpartum, breastfeeding and I've come on my period. 😕

Is anyone having sex yet?

I’m currently around 4.5weeks pp and considering it but I’m just nervous about whether my tear would’ve healed enough yet, it was only a second degree and my bleedings stopped so I’m not concerned about infection but i just don’t know x
