My 1 week old will just lie in his cot awake and not try to get our attention

Is this normal? He will just lie there awake for ages but not want any comfort etc.

My daugther does the same, she just lays there chilling and looking around.

I'd say yes. My little one (4 weeks) has been doing this on and off since birth! 😊

Yeah, sometimes they just be chilling and amazed at the world around them

Yes, at 1 week they really can't see very well and it's a bit early for social interactions. They get more aware and start 'talking' to you and smiling around 6 weeks.

What would you consider to be normal language levels for a 1.5 year old?

My 1.5 year old has about 15 words and I’m worried this is not enough.

How do you time feeds?

For example if you say my baby feeds every 3 hours, do you time the feed from the start or the end?

Like if your baby started their feed at 12 and finished it at half past 12, would you say they're due their next feed at 3 or half past 3?

(Obviously going by baby's cues first and foremost, but I just wasn't sure how to actually time it, especially for longer feeds)
