Hey everyone, this will be my first baby and I feel pretty anxious about the birth because it seems like the majority of women's experiences are negative. So I just wanted to check, is that really true?! Only gives me 4 boxes, add in comments any other answers ☺️

I had a induction. But my induction was positive and resulted in vaginal delivery with no interventions (41+3). Had the pessary inserted at around 8am. My water ruptured on their own after 18 hours of having the pessary (2am). Then they started me on the oxytocin drip around 9am as I had not started contracting. By 10:36pm he was here. The drip is not as bad as some make out. They increase gradually so your body eases into each stage. And thats my positive birth story. My advice is don't worry too much about the birth and just be open to expect anything. I had high expectations of a water birth and spontaneous labour with no medication. I got induction natural delivery (no water birth due to induction) and pain relief was gas and air and pethidine 😅. Which I really can't complain about because it was a overall good experience 💗

I had a failed induction, she went 13 days over which went to a c section pretty quickly as she wasn’t tolerating it. It was fine though, they really looked after me and I was so grateful she got here safely. In my view it helps to have a plan, but also be flexible and not too fixed to an ideal. I’m not sure this time if I’ll try for a VBAC or go for an elective section 🤔
