Birthday parties

So I’m absolutely devastated to be saying this but I’m currently planning my little boys second birthday party (how is my newborn turning 2 in a few months 😭) and I’m not sure when to send out the invites, I’m planning on inviting kids from his nursery now that he’s actually making friends but i don’t want to send them too early and the parents forget or send them too late and everyone already has plans, when would be the best time? x

I would say the beginning of September. Another thing is ask parents to rsvp by text (paper invites with your number on) so that you can send out reminders 😭

It’s cute when they make their own friends.

Id say about a month in advance is probably about right, seems to be what most people do

Yes, my eldest just started school and there’s a million parties 🙈 in general they come about a month in advance - def put a date on the rsvp ☺️

Baby 1st bday party / alcohol

Hey all, it’s my baby’s first birthday this weekend and im just having like a gathering in the garden for him! I haven’t even mentioned alcohol to people as I thought it would be obvious that it’s not acceptable to really drink at a baby’s first birthday party!!

Please may I ask people’s thoughts as quite a lot of people have messaged me to ask if they can bring bottles of wine, cans of beer / cider, cans of cocktails!! Am I being harsh not wanting it there??

section date clash

My consultant today said that they’d book me in for an elective c-section for 38 weeks (I’m high risk due to a previous stillbirth) which is on the day we’re due to go to Center Parcs for the weekend 😅 I know you can’t plan these things BUT I wanted to know how flexible they can be with dates? Obviously if they strongly advise against it we’ll just move the booking to after the Baby’s born (we can’t do earlier), and she seemed open to it and told us not to change the booking just yet - I was just hoping for some nice, relaxing family time before baby arrives as I’ll obviously be anxious just before.

Should I push or not?

I had a growth scan 2 weeks ago (28+6) which showed normal velocity but baby girl was 13%. This scan was triggered by a low fundal height measurement.

I went back in today with RFM (ctg and checks were all normal), and I’d had some spotting on Saturday (post sex). My fundal height was 30cm and I’m 32 weeks tomorrow.

Consultant saw me and referred me for a scan which the ultrasound department have rejected. Should I push for a scan or is this enough reassurance?

Overwhelmed

My baby is 7 months old and i just feel exhausted. I can't keep on top of housework, eating well and I feel like I'm generally just drowning.
Is this normal or does it ever get any easier? Feel a bit scared for the future as people say the first 6 months are when babies are the easiest 😬
Posting incognito as I just feel a bit embarrassed!

Booking scan ☺️

I’ve got my NHS booking scan next week. This may be a silly question, but does my partner need to come? I’m more than happy to go solo as it sounded more of an admin type appointment.

VBAC prep?

Hi! I’m a 28 yo FTM, currently 8 months post partum, and am hoping to prep my body in hopes for having a VBAC in the future. I had a c section because my baby was breech upon getting admitted, and my contractions were too close together to attempt flipping. Any tips for anyone who prepped or had a successful VBAC? I’ve gained weight while nursing and just feel really out of shape. I want the best chances at having a successful VBAC! Thanks!
