Just been for my first midwife appointment today.
All went well, but they have booked me for my dating scan at 15 weeks. Is this normal (UK)?
Anyone else having to wait this long?
Feeling a little bit anxious and in the “is this actually real” stage of pregnancy… I want to tell relatives etc but now my scan is weeks away 😟.

Had mine at 14 weeks as Christmas and all so they couldn’t do earlier. I ended up going for a private one so I could tell family earlier!

Hey! Firstly congratulations! I would call them because the NHS website says the latest you can have a dating scan is 14 weeks, as it’s the latest they can accurately measure crown-rump length which gives a due date and check for genetic conditions

I think they can only do the chromosome test before 14wks so I’d ask them to move it forward (assuming you’ll have that blood test done)

Mine is closer to 14 weeks. From what I read it can be 12-14 weeks. If you’re feeling anxious and are able to I’d highly recommend an early reassurance scan. Ours was £60 and gave us so much piece of mind. Congrats xx

That's strange, mine has been booked for 12 weeks and I've never known anyone on the NHS to have to go beyond maybe 13 weeks. Might be worth contacting them to double check the info. My midwife booking appointment last week they told me to book in with them again at 16 weeks xxx

I was originally booked for when I would’ve been over 13weeks (would’ve been closer to 12 based on my period i had my dates changed after my scan) but i got in a minor car accident and got an early scan with the epu to check on baby and they realised i would’ve been over 13 weeks so rebooked it for sooner, my trust doesn’t like to do it past 13 weeks because its not as accurate x

I would call them and say, it’s abit late x
