Blood in poo

My 6 week old has had a bit of blood in her poo and yesterday while changing her nappy she strained and only some bloody mucus came out, no poo.

The GP has referred us to paediatrics but didn’t seem concerned and said it might be a cows milk protein allergy. She is exclusively breastfed and I have very limited dairy in my diet as I have oat milk in my drinks and cereal. However I do still have cheese, chocolate etc.

Has anyone had similar issues with their babies nappies and what was the outcome?

Yes I had this problem when I switched baby from formula to regular cows milk. All I had to do was switch to lactose free milk and she stopped having bloody stool ^^ and any time she has problems going, I’ll give her high fiber food like apple and pear but it’s not often.

Kissing babies 😩

(For context my son is in the NICU!)

Yesterday my mother in law kissed our son 😩😩 I was so shocked as I thought everyone knew you don't kiss a new baby let alone one born 3 months early and is in the NICU 😭😭 I did say to her "op, I don't think you're allowed to do that" and she apologised but I didn't want to make a scene or make it awkward as it was just me and her there, but I think she only thinks the no kissing applies to the NICU and not for when we're home aswell 😩

I told my husband but (no offence) as a man he didn't even know about this rule!! I have told him before especially when explaining about the RSV vaccine in pregnancy but baby was born so early I didn't have the chance to get that vaccine 😩

Not sure what I want from this post other than to rant 😩

Sleep 😫

Does anyone else’s little one struggle with sleep or start waking super early? Our little boy used to go to bed around 7.30pm and wake around 6–6.30am at best. But for the last 3–4 weeks he’s been waking anytime between 4.45–5.15am, which is getting pretty exhausting 😩

He’s 12.5 months old — could it be the heat, an age thing/sleep regression?

Night time nappies

I’m looking for tried and tested night time nappies as I’m losing my mind with the overnight leaks 😩
My little boy is now moving into size 3-4 depending on the brand and I feel since we’ve gone up a size, I can’t seem to find a nappy that doesn’t leak. He’s wet through then he struggles to go back to sleep after. Ive tried Tesco and Asda so far. Bonus points for budget friendly!

18mo not sleeping in this heat

Having lots of trouble getting my daughter to sleep, we're housesitting so the mix of different house and this heatwave arent helping, any ideas?

Parent preference

Anyone really struggling with their baby preferring to spend time with the other parent? My 5 month old only wants to be held by her daddy and cries every time he tries to hand her to me. I breaks my hear a little bit every time. I just want to cuddle with her! We have tried multiple techniques to enhance our bond but it doesn't seem to work. It makes me want to cry.
