Parent preference

Anyone really struggling with their baby preferring to spend time with the other parent? My 5 month old only wants to be held by her daddy and cries every time he tries to hand her to me. I breaks my hear a little bit every time. I just want to cuddle with her! We have tried multiple techniques to enhance our bond but it doesn't seem to work. It makes me want to cry.

My daughter is going through a daddy phase rn bc he’s on vacation so he’s home more. I would try wearing her sleep sack inside your shirt all day to keep your scent on it before putting it on her at night. She could like his scent rn maybe after shave or deodorant

‘Cry it out’ in my arms

My one month old sometimes cannot be settled despite having all their needs met. Is it ok if I hold him in my arms/on my chest and let him ‘cry it out’? I feel like I’m burning out trying to do all sorts of acrobatic manoeuvres to calm him down. I DO NOT believe in letting a baby cry it out alone/self-soothe. I think it’s harmful and I never want to do that but I was wondering if letting him cry whilst on me was any different because he can feel he’s not alone? Or should I always take all possible measures to get him to stop crying?

Fussy hour

Does anyone else’s baby seem to be really fussy between 8pm and 11pm? They only want to be held and the moment you put them down they scream the house down. Feed them, change them, play music/sing to them…none of it works to soothe them and get them to sleep

Sleep in the heat

How are we all getting our babies to sleep at night in this this heat? 2 disturbed nights so far and despite settling to bed earlier fine my baby woke around 30mins ago and still isn’t able to get back to sleep. He’s usually a really good sleeper and I fear we may never see a night of sleep again😢 I don’t really know what to do tonight with him. Honestly had enough of this stupidly hot weather and longing for some cold days and rain!

Been using white noise sound machine wrong

With both my kids, I always put the sound machine in their cots, and probably louder than I should have tbh. They've always been great sleepers, and my 2 year old still has it on now, although it's on the other side of the bedroom now.

I've just read that incorrect use, e.g. using within 2 meters of sleeping children, using continuously overnight, and using louder than 50 decimals can cause long-term hearing and/or developmental issues. Ive definitely done this all their lives and they're 2 years old and 6 months old. Obviously now I'm going to change how I use it, but has anyone else done this and not had any issues later on?

Introducing bottle

Hey everyone, I've starting expressing breastmilk today to my partner can start doing the night feeds with a bottle from next week. My little boy is 5 weeks old, has anyone got any tips for introducing a bottle, or best brands for combi feeding.

I'm really worried about him not being able to go back to the boob. I absolutely love breastfeeding and don't want to stop but the sleep deprivation is really starting to affect me so think having a couple of nights a week where I can sleep through would really help me.
