Just feeling very sad- genetic screening

I had my 12 week scan last Wednesday, the sonographer said everything looked normal baby looks healthy, no excessive fluid etc. I had my blood screening done after and was called into the hospital today.
I was informed the Down syndrome was very low chance but edwards & pataus was 1/8 high risk. I’m going for the CVS in the next week and crossing everything that its not the case. The midwife today did reassure me on a positive note that this can be wrong, my baby could be completely healthy and it could be an issue with my placenta. My last baby was measuring small throughout and was born via semi elective csection (it was that or induction) at 37+6. Other than being on the small side he has been a very healthy happy baby with no problem. I’m just feeling abit heart broken as I know these conditions are tragic and have no quality of life if they survive 😔

I'm sorry you are dealing with this.....a lady I know was also told this exactly. She went through all the extended testing and baby didn't have any issues in the end however she did have a difficult pregnancy with complications with the uterus and placenta and the baby was delivered early and had a low birth weight...however he is all fine and growing well now. So not completely nothing, but there is hope...best of luck xx

Baby Iris (due 13th July)

My 2nd baby. Found out late that i had gestational diabetes. Had it in first pregnancy but passed twice this time. At 36 weeks they said I was measuring big and needed a growth scan. Then baby was estimated to be 97th percentile. Had another test and found the gestational diabetes was back! You can imagine my relief when I went into spontaneous labour at 37+2. Woke up to my waters breaking at 12:50am. Contractions started about 1 hour later. Then Iris was born at 3:20am weighing 8lb 7oz. Just 2.5 hours from waters breaking! I have quick labours as my son's was 4 hours.
She's a very good, chill newborn! After having a velcro newborn first time, I'm enjoying this time round more!
Good luck to everyone yet to give birth. You've got this💪

Newborns eye

My boy is 2 weeks today and has had this gunky, swollen eye for about 10 days. We bathe it constantly but it seems to be more red and swollen the past 4.

Midwife’s are aware and said to contact a GP, but others have said to continue to bathe it. Should I just contact GP?

Early scan

Heyy all

Just wondering if anyone can tell me if an early scan is worth it? Thinking about booking one for 8 weeks but £80 to see what might just be a blob doesn’t seem worth it?!

When did everyone get their nhs scans ? Were u closer to 12 or 14 weeks?

Advice wanted!

Hi! I'm 25weeks! I just need some advice if possible, So I was out walking yesterday, I won't lie I felt like I was sitting more then I was actually walking, I kept feeling like the baby was sitting very low on my stomach and it was discomforting, is this even normal? Or does anyone know how to release the tension?

Anyone got any advice please ?
I’ve never let my boys go near my breasts and I don’t touch them but I’m still leaking!! They just don’t seem to want to dry up? I do go a day or two of nothing then suddenly they’re pouring again (one more than another) anyone got any magic fix?
