So currently in hospital as been told I need to have a section at 36 weeks,
Prepped for a home birth and always been told natural birth easier recovery than a section,
Any advise or tips to help aid recovery as currently shitting myself!
Thanks in advance x

Honestly my csection was no where near as bad or scary as I thought it would be! Defo take time to lay down and air the scar out after a shower, I used the baby mittens to dab it dry lol.
I felt fully normal by 4/6 weeks, just your stomach will feel a bit strange like you have no muscles there, it’s hard to explain🫠🤣 and still do your pelvic floor exercises! Mine felt fine then month 4 the muscles have just disappeared xx
Thank you, its my second so part of me is worried I cant jusy lay down and recover but equally am I right in saying they will advise to walk and be mobile, ( worried about the toilet after)
Xxx

My biggest tip would to be harvest colostrum now for your baby, it takes some of the stress away when trying to breastfeed at first(if that’s what you’re planning) and lots of help! It’s tricky to move at first but it gets easier and use some of that hypnobirthing breathing for moving around and going to the toilet… which reminds me! Take laxatives, help that first poo out😅 xx

I’ve just had an emergency c-section at 37 weeks! My second baby too!
I was up moving about after about 6 hours I think, i was just up heading to the toilet/shower on the ward or sitting in the chair rather than in the bed! After day 2 I did slow walks up the corridor in the hospital and back, once I got home I was much more mobile and after 2 weeks I have barely any pain or discomfort! But the best advice is to keep on top of pain relief so that you can mobilise, take it at regular intervals rather than just when the discomfort gets too much!
Air out your scar when possible, I lie in bed with clothing pulled lower than the scar to get the air to it, keep it as dry as possible and make sure you dab it dry after a shower!
The hospital discharged me with pain relief and a laxative tablet which also helped! Xx
