28 week midwife appointment

Hello all! I just wanted to check really what everyone else had in their 28 week appointment, I was presuming I would be weighed again, carbon monoxide test and urine test but none of these things I had done. Just blood pressure, measuring bump, hearing heart beat and blood taken! What did everyone’s 28 week appointment look like? 😊

You should definitely have your urine tested at every appointment. I had mine yesterday, blood pressure, urine tested, heartbeat, measured bump, bloods taken, palpated to see babies position. Didn't weigh me or do the carbon monoxide test x

I had mine yesterday! Also blood pressure, heart beat, bump measuring and bloods, but I did also have my urine tested which is something I’m told has/will be done at every appointment in my trust at least.
I haven’t been weighed at all throughout my pregnancy though so it made sense for me not to be this time too.

Bloods, urine, heartbeat, blood pressure and a good chat. My midwife this time round has been amazing and is very on top of my past birth trauma and my past mental health issues so we always have a lengthy chat. I'm having growth scans due to the size of my first born (too small for their liking) so don't get weighed or measured by my midwife after the 1st booking appointment xx

A blood test and urine and then she did my blood pressure and heard baby’s heart x

I was weighed and had urine test. No carbon monoxide test but I think maybe she was supposed to? She asked if I smoked and then put it away when I said I didn't x

I had the same and a urine test in addition, no weighing or carbon monoxide test.

6 month postpartum emergency c section momma

Hello ladies,
6 months ago I was induced to have my son at 37 weeks due to getting gestational hypertension in the end of my pregnancy. I had a birth plan and while I know it’s called a plan because it doesn’t always work out the way we want. Pretty much none of my birth went the way I had envisioned and I’ll say I mourn that almost daily. I was induced and given cytotech to soften my cervix, then the foley balloon was inserted and tugged out after 2 attempts, and the pitocin started shortly after. Things were progressing really well and I was almost 5cm when I was asked if I wanted the epidural. I had pretty much planned on getting one but my pain was still quite manageable, so I wanted to wait. But I felt pressured and didn’t really have support during my delivery. The second I got that epidural I never made it past 5cm…I labored for 27 hours before the decision was made due to me contracting and infection that I needed to have an emergency c section as baby’s hr was spiked as well. To make matters worse I felt my c section happening. I’m not talking about a slight tugging and pulling. I’m talking about cutting and ripping and tearing….It’s been 6 months since then and I still think about it like I said daily. It traumatized me and made me mourn what I didn’t get with my baby. I wanted that immediate skin to skin on my chest and the golden hour after birth. I was wondering if any other moms experienced similar complications and/ or are feeling similarly? I am so grateful my son is alive and happy as am I, but can we just take a second to acknowledge things suck sometimes?

Advice

My C section area has a off smell, it’s not sore or anything but it looks wet and slightly red in certain areas. I had a swap taken 3 weeks ago, I am currently 5 weeks post C section. My results show ‘profuse’ bacterial growth from several weeks ago, but my doctor has listed it as no action required and did not contact me once my results came in. Can anyone explain this? Is this bacterial growth normal? Why would my GP list is as no action required?

Joining the July Babies Group 😁

So… I’m 41 weeks and 5 days. My due date was June 18th. At this point nothing is progressing so I’m guessing baby boy has decided that July is his birth month now lol.
