My C section area has a off smell, it’s not sore or anything but it looks wet and slightly red in certain areas. I had a swap taken 3 weeks ago, I am currently 5 weeks post C section. My results show ‘profuse’ bacterial growth from several weeks ago, but my doctor has listed it as no action required and did not contact me once my results came in. Can anyone explain this? Is this bacterial growth normal? Why would my GP list is as no action required?

Perhaps your GP believes these bacteria are normal for the area? Can you ask for a 2nd opinion, and insist that this doesn't explain the smell? It does sound concerning but I'm not a doctor. Calling 111 might also get you speaking to a GP about this?
You can also ask the GP to put their statement in writing and sign it, I was told by a GP friend once that doing that makes them feel more accountable and is likely going to get them to do more tests. The one time I tried it my GP flat out refused and I switched to another clinic 🙃

Enterococcus is naturally found in the body, so it may not mean an infection, however if the site has a smell and is red, maybe make another appointment to discuss how to clean and maintain the site.
