My baby just learned to roll from her back to her stomach but I haven’t left her on her tummy long enough to let her roll back onto her back because when she’s on her tummy she lifts her head until it hurts and she cries or it falls down and she picks it back up and fusses. I always just put her back on her back for her because I don’t like seeing her struggle. When did your baby roll back onto their back from their tummy? Is there anything I can do to help her learn?

I used a rattle or a toy to get my son’s attention to have him follow the noise / turn his head which guided him to roll back to his back.

It took my daughter a week to figure out how to flip back over. However, I did support her by practicing this skill during tummy time. There are many videos online from pediatricians and pediatric OTs that walk you through ways to do this.
