does anyone know when your colostrum is meant to come in? I'm just at 35 weeks but when I try to hand express, all that comes out is just watery, a slight cream tint but really slight, not thick at all. (yes I know I'm meant to wait until 36 weeks but I'm likely to have to deliver early so I'm anxious to get a bit of stock.) I feel like it's pretty late to still not be getting anything, will it get thicker in the next week or does this suggest I might have some trouble with the colostrum coming in in time for my delivery?

I promise you that watery substance is still colostrum.

I didnt get anything until id given birth with my son. Was mega stressed about it but yeah had a midwife help out just after id had him. Ive not been able to get anything out yet exactly but sometimes I wake up and notice theres some dried

Mine has been in since before 20 weeks (I'm 34 now). I think everyone is different but I'm waiting until 37 weeks as recommended so I don't potential cause early labour

My first I got nothing. This one Iv started collecting anything you can collect will be helpful ❤️

Still collect it! 🫶🏽

Some people just don't get a lot or anything until baby is born and the hormonal changes trigger more production. It doesn't mean there isn't anything there - your body starts making colostrum around 16 weeks. But it could be down to technique, or simply just that your breasts aren't receiving the right stimulation ie hormones. The more stressed you are, the less likely you will get. But the fact you are getting watery drops is great! Anything is something, so collect and store 😊
