Is anyone who is having a c section considering getting a recliner chair or had one for recovery? I keep hearing that it would help in the first week of the section in terms of recovery and not having to use your stomach muscles as much than if you were lying flat at bedtime. Any thoughts?

I had two C-sections & I never felt like I needed a recliner. I used all my pillows in bed or my pregnancy pillow to get comfy.
For my first i was fine with no pain meds....the second one I also had a tube removal & needed meds for a week. So idk if I just have a high pain tolerance or what lol

I had a c section in May. I didn't have a recliner but yes that would definitely help you trying to get out of bed. I bought mine 3 weeks after because it also helps with the long nights head.
I would say buy it and you will not only use it for you the first week but later with your little one.

I felt most comfortable laying down so my husband just helped me sit up every time I got up. I was in the bed for a majority of the time. I had a recliner chair and didn’t use it much

I stayed in my recliner for 3 weeks after my C-section due to my bed being higher than normal and I was more comfortable in my chair over the bed anyway it’s not a necessity but if you are already buying a rocking chair for your little one’s room I would buy a rocking chair recliner so you can have it for both purposes.

I mean I’d get a recliner and rocking chair combined. I only had a rocking chair and I wish I had a recliner. It would have helped when I needed to just lean back but also when contact napping I could also just sleep while I was holding baby as well or like lean my head back and rest my legs instead of just sitting straight up for multiple hours

I used lots of pillows to sleep but if I had an actual recliner i probably would have slept there too
